Keep yourself busy prepping and reward yourself with a special time out and you will be on the other side of this STAT. I kept reminding myself that my life would be better and it is because of the surgery. Give yourself a lot of time to recover because it is not a quick fix but a journey.
I had a bone infection near my 2 yr old TKR in June. I went to the ER with 104 temp and a red patch below my knee. I spent a week in the hospital with cellulitis, superficial thrombosis and possible bone infection. Doctor said if I would get a PICC line installed and have home health come...
Dr. M has a good website and I would suggest you call and talk to his office to see what they say about revisions. I would at least get a second opinion from someone who is concerned about your pain.

Hope the meds give you relief. Tell the nurse you are feeling anxious and would like help getting relief. Is someone there to advocate for you? If not call a supervisor. The meds you are on are prone to make you anxious. I made my husband stay in the room with me because it calmed my...
Hi Momma. I too live south of Houston and I would highly recommend Dr. Vasilios Matthews at Texas Orthopedic. I have had a rough time getting through this knee replacement but his work was excellent. My problems have come from other health issues. Best of luck finding the answer that will...
First, reading on this site will help you understand how to approach the docs. I would try to find patients of the surgeons and get their opinions. Check to see what insurance and hospitals they use. Is their staff warm and professional because you'll spend more time with them than you will...
Your concerns and condition sound similar to mine. My LTKR was over two years ago. Things healed slowly but have gradually improved my condition. My suggestion is for you to try to improve your general strength and stamina. Exercise was almost impossible for me unless I was in the water so...
Expect to be tired because your body is recovering from major surgery. So sorry about the reaction. The more you can ice and elevate the sooner your swelling and pain will be reduced. It is promising that you are mobile now. I would try to find out what you body had such a bad reaction to...
I had a LTKR as a newly diagnosed Type II and had no trouble but I made sure that each person who worked with me was told each time they saw me. I also would not let them administer insulin. I was only there two nights so I was home before there was any real change.
Hope the other posters have helped you accept your progress as normal.....for you! This is a long healing process but it is worth the time, pain and work. Your job right now is to smile while others bring you fresh ice while your knee is properly elevated above your nose. My recovery probably...
Sorry you have a new challenge but I have been amazed at the way my medical team has handled my multiple health issues. Make sure that each professional you deal with is aware of your total health picture. Hope you can work on that knee soon.

So sorry for your pain. You need a doctor you can trust. I am just another tkr survivor but I know a jerk and his staff when I hear about them. Pain is a clue that you need help with your recovery. Research and find a revision specialist to examine you. Let us know how things go.

LTKR...
You will slowly recover mentally and physically but know it will get better. My pt was very painful and I felt like a victim until I changed at 8 weeks to warm water therapy. Then my knee and my brain began to recover!
I'm a Texan too and wishing you great results. Hope your pt is as successful as your surgery. I did not get the flexibility I had hoped for but I do have a strong, reliable, pain free knee and I am thankful for that.
