Hi everyone! Wanted to check in and run something by you as well. First, I was 7 months postop on Mar 21. Mostly things are going good. I only have 2 things that aggravate me. One is my ankle is still swelling on that side. Now reminding everyone about me dropping the VCR/DVD player on my foot...
Well this last week has been interesting. And nothing due to my knee but the foot on that side. I was cleaning my office last Sunday and a DVD/VCR combo fell on my foot. Luckily it wasn't broken but it is horribly bruised. I had been trying to continue to exercise my new knee up until that...
Ok wanted to run this past my bonesmart friends. I have added a picture of the concern. If you look at the right knee to the outside and above the knee there is a puffy area on left picture. It feels like it's the quad muscle. And you can see on right picture, when leg is straight it is smooth...
@ layla Thanks so much!! Still dealing with the swelling and it gets so aggravating. After working 5 hours it can become a bit painful along the outside of my knee but I'm guessing it's from the inflammatory response I am still dealing with.
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!!
@Jockette Elevating has been my go to throughout this entire process. I didntnhave much swelling anywhere until I joined the ODIC on Nov 2nd. Ever since then, the calf and ankle have been mad at me and they swell daily. Guessing this is something I am just going to have to be patient and wait it...
Here is what is so crazy. My knee isn't swelling very much. It is mainly my calf and ankle. Surgeon as well as my hubby's vein doctor said it was blood pooling where it has trouble going back up to heart. I read that icing has a tendency to narrow the vessels. I attached one where I read it. So...
I don't have velcro ice packs but i have the gel packs. Just won't have a way to keep them frozen all day. I did go pick up some light compression knee socks to use because from knee down is where a good bit of the swelling has been. I will use the ice on the way and stop part of the way to...
Hi everyone. Went to my 12 week surgeon visit and he released me to work, gave me the bursitis injection and said see you in a year. The biggest thing as I mentioned before is the redness and swelling I have been getting since I joined the ODIC on the 2nd where I went shopping for too long. Dr...
@Dmcfad2 I remember that. Hope you are doing well. Thanks for stopping to say hi. I just looked at your thread and it looks like we aren't too far away from each other on a TKR as well. I am going to go read thru and see how you are doing with it.
I was 11 weeks on Sunday. Went to PT on Monday and my flexion was 115. I had done a rather long shopping trip with my daughter and I have a sore tendon behind my knee and of course the walking increased the swelling. I think overall for 11 weeks I am doing good. I go to my surgeon Thursday to...
@benne68 He mentioned that he will be doing the massage but at the moment the tightness has me so sore in those areas that I don't think I could take it. It is forthcoming though. He is using moist heat before I start which loosens things up and makes it so much easier. Yesterday I did some...
@Layla Thanks for the 2 month congrats!! I decided to go to outpt PT and it has been a good idea. The therapist agreed that my main issue is tightness in my IT and hamstring. He had me doing only 3 exercises to stretch them from the appt last week and I return tomorrow. There has been no...
@Layla You quoted exactly what I had read which led me to think it was you instead of Justiceriders because the term glacial pace sticks out. I will hold off on going. I had tentatively made an appointment with PT but I will just call and tell them I can't come at the moment. I have been...
