THR Swollen ankle and blood clots

Hi Alex, Thanks for the info about managing the threads. The swelling in my ankle has been going down, and goes down overnight. It has spread around the side and is now sore to touch in that spot, and painful to walk on. The knee has swollen Kuo more, and is also painful when I walk.

THR Swollen ankle and blood clots

Hi - I am 8 weeks post THR, and have had a swollen ankle and knee since. During the past few days my ankle has swollen more, and is painful to touch and walk on. My knee has also swollen more, and is painful. I'm freaking out a bit, as I thought the swelling should be getting better, not...

    THR Making six weeks

I'm 6 weeks post THR and I can walk without crutches inside, but still take one outside. Today I was sitting on the bed and bent over to pick up a pin off the floor so my dog wouldn't stand on it, forgetting the rules! I feel like I have pulled something, I have discomfort in my lower back...

    THR Lifetime restrictions?

I was diagnosed with a " groin strain" by my doctor, who said I would get up one day and it would be all gone! Waited every day for this miracle, after 5 months of agony finally had an X-ray to find a full hip replacement was necessary. My advice is get an X-ray done, don't wait like I did.

Depression/post-op blues - open for all

Yes feeling better now seems like my body just realised what had happened and went into shock! 2 weeks today and still have wobbly days, but mostly looking forward now to walking without crutches.

THR Swollen ankle and blood clots

Day 9 and I'm feeling better - I think the swelling is going down a bit, but that could be wishful thinking! In any case I'm not stressing so much thanks to the support from all of you, what a difference it makes. I've taken the advice about taking pain relief regularly and that sure helps.

THR Swollen ankle and blood clots

Thank you so much - the shin pain has settled down a lot, and after reading the information about swelling I'm so relieved that it is normal. It does go down overnight, which I thought must be a good sign! After limping around for 5 months with a diagnosed "groin strain" it was a shock to find...

THR Swollen ankle and blood clots

Hi - I'm 7 days out from my hip replacement and my ankle and foot are quite swollen. I read that is normal but I get some sharp pains in the shin area and I'm worried how to tell if it's a blood clot forming?

Depression/post-op blues - open for all

5 days post-op and surprised to find myself in floods of tears today, even though things seem to be going well. I was a bit traumatised yesterday to see my ankle swell twice the size, but reading on this forum calmed me down, how wonderful to talk to others who have been here!
