Thank you so much Layla. It really feels like I am back to square one, but I am hanging in there and trying not to go into despair. This was a huge set back but I was very lucky the implant was stable and in place. Wishing you a nice weekend! :loveshwr:

Thank you so much! It helps being reminded of the recovery time, so easy to fall into despair when things are difficult and impatience sets in. You are really making things easier to understand and soothing my mind :) :-) (:

I had an avulsion fracture of the right lesser Trochanter the 17.th of May 2020. The same side as my THR.

Thank you and I am sorry I started a new thread. I am not too familiar with how to post and use this forum. I didn’t need surgery only conservative treatment and I don’t take any kind of medication for the neuropathic symptoms. Too many side effects. But I will definitely start doing the ice...

Hi! Long time since I have been here. It is now 9 months post-op but I am still struggling with neuropathic sensations/pain and swelling. How long do you recommend using ice? I am a little bit anxious this will never go away, but my surgeon keeps telling me I’ll be fine. I was very unlucky...

    THR Depression after THR

I have been where you are now. I have never felt that kind of depression in my whole life as I did after my RTHR in Dec 2019. Tears were just flowing and I cried out in despair thinking I could never be myself again. Well I did. Almost 3 months in recovery and I am feeling a lot better. For me...

@Mojo333 Thank you so much! Actually, the last two days have been promising. I was able to walk a longer distance without the crutches yesterday and the neurological symptoms aren’t too bad. Still there, but less. I was seeing the Myotherapist on Wednesday and she is great! Working on releasing...

@CricketHip Thanks! I have been into a little despair lately wondering if all these symptoms, aches and pains will ever go away. I am 12 weeks post-op and hoped to be in better shape than I am. Also having a bit more swelling lately even though I am resting almost all day long. I know we are all...

Hi! I hope you all have a nice Sunday. I have found out that the widespread pain I experienced was probably due to lack of sleep. It has become better after I have been able to get in bed early and have uninterrupted sleep for some nights. Still some new symptoms have come along, severe pain...

Thanks to everyone for supporting me. I also have been struggling with MS for the last 30 years so I am used to quite severe symptoms, but the MS is under control. The symptoms of joint pain I am having now are new and widespread. Two of my fingers are swollen. Feels like something is going on...

@Celle I don’t mean to be negative but my whole body is aching, all my joints. Maybe a reaction to all the stress from the surgery? Lack of sleep? I am seeing a doctor tomorrow and hoping for some answers.

I have read that even MOP (metal on polyethylene) can cause metal ions in the bloodstream which in turn can lead to health problems. Especially with cobalt/chrome heads. Anyone with experience of this? I hope it is a rare complication.
