Knee Infection* Alternatives to spacer & antibiotics<

Ok, so like I said I saw my OS in June as I am still having a lot of pain in my knee. My last replacement was 10 months ago. I still have very limited flexion. I am at a loss of what to do. I have started walking off and on and then something happens and I get off my schedule of walking and...

Except it has been over 9 months since my last surgery. It hasn't been swollen for a long time. The pain comes mostly from overdoing my cleaning, walking, etc. So, no suggestions?

New question and not sure if I should just be adding this here or not. Continuation of my surgical problems. So, as it is written here, I finally had my last revision to put my knee back in after an infection. That was October 8, 2018. Everything went well and I choose to do PT myself, at...

KarriB so... Propped myself up in bed. Still just a little backache but nothing like it was. I think this might work to get me sleeping in my bed again. Thanks for the suggestion,

Josephine: so, My doctor called in a cream for me to try. It's TRIAMCINOLONE 0.1% CREAM 30GM ..so hoping that it helps. But...now...here's the story. Since the end of June, when I had my antibiotic block and two rods put in my knee, I have been sleeping in a recliner. About two weeks ago I...

Celle: I really haven't spoken to my ID since she released me after my PICC line was taken out. I have spoken with my OS's nurse. She said that they have had the best success with Clindamycin and he really doesn't want me to change to a different antibiotic. I have talked with my GP's nurse...

Josephine - so you mean enough Benadryl? Well, I read what it can do to you long term and even short term and since I have to take Clindamycin for the rest of my life I really don't want to chance that. "When the researchers examined the use of anticholinergic drugs, they found that people who...

Thanks KarriB...and Layla - I didn't know that about vitamin c. I'll start eating more of the fruits with that in it and I do already take a daily probiotic because of being on Clindamycin for the rest of my life...Thanks.

The only problem with my skin itching so bad is that my OS wants me to stay on this antibiotic. Like I said, his nurse said to try Benadryl. I have taken it for a week or so and it doesn't seem to help much. Also, there are a lot of adverse side effects if taking for a long period of time...

I didn't know where else to ask this so here goes. I have signed up for both Webinars on 2/6. I am hoping to have no trouble watching it live, but if something happens will it be available to view at another time?

Wow...I can't believe how long it's been since I was on here. Question, I am taking Clindamycin now for the rest of my life... I have had so much itching especially on my legs. My doctor has me taking Benadryl to see if it helps. I have put all kinds of ointments, creams and sprays and...

You know @KarriB - I didn't think of that. I knew after having those rods in my knee for 3 1/2 months that the muscles there would be almost non-existent. It's like in junior high when we did the President's Fitness thing and one of the things was to just hang on bars against the wall with...

That's a good idea, arizonaone. I'm just wondering if anyone else has this problem. When I get up to do just a little bit of something...it isn't my knee that hurts...it's my back. I already mentioned that. But what really gets me is how much I start shaking. I shake so much that I have to...

ODIC club - that is too funny @Celle Since I have been dealing with knee problems for over 15 years you would think that by now I would have learned that. It's so silly. When I sit here with my knee really bad...all I can think about is getting up and getting stuff done...and yet on those...

@arizonaone - I have two granddaughters - ages 7 & 10. Kazlyn & Kahmari - the older one has to do a "I am Julia Child" report where she dresses up as her and has to talk about her life. I showed her a video the other day of Julia and told her she had to talk like her too. She won't do it but...
