    Swelling comes on SUDDENLY on Day 3 post surgery. Swelling = Pain!! Take your opioids at the prescribed times and start icing on Day 2 to get ahead of it. Opioids make you constipated IMMEDIATELY. Start taking your laxative/stool softener as soon as you get home. Don't wait until you need it...
