Jakeleg: Thank you for your help, I will try to incorporate your ideas , shorter days make sense. Re Velcro Not sure if I can claim credit for Scotland re inventing this. Possibly a Swiss invention? We certainly have plenty of what we call sticky-willies in our park and country areas that stick...

Check up with GP today and requested that he sign me fit to return to work, with a phased return mid Jan probably the 18th. That would take me to the 12 week post surgery. My employers have already agreed to a phased return over the first 4 weeks, with options to review this if necessary and...

Sisterinhim Thanks I didn’t think it was anything to worry about, just curious what was going on.

Funkymuse Thanks just curious to know if it’s a “ normal” development. If there is such a thing as normal in knee recovery.:flabber:

Thanks Celle I can see that there has already been a massive improvement going from constant pain, no sleep or appetite, to sleeping for most of the night, little pain and a return to munching my way through the kitchen. I am looking forward to feeling more energetic, but the main priority is...

Sisterinhim: I am slowly realising and trying to be accepting :chinstroke:that sporadic burst of pain, swelling and stiffness are a fairly constant feature of recovery. I’m trying to gently increase periods of activity, I need to consider that I will need to return to work in a few weeks...

Joshyboy I am also experiencing stiffness in my leg but the site seems to suggest that’s very normal. It’s a bit frustrating really, I want to be better and back to normal, yesterday, but need to learn to be patient. I keep telling myself I’m fortunate to have got this far this without too many...

That sounds so sad. I’m just glad I came across BoneSmart early in my recovery and wasn’t forced into extreme PT after surgery.

Funkymuse lovely to hear from you again , I really appreciate your feedback, I have to say I was shocked :yikes: to hear the hospital feedback. I was fearful I’d get a telling off and 100 lines for not doing my homework. I really don’t understand how different areas of the world can have such...

jakeleg: I know I’m very very fortunate in many respects. I can see from the many feedbacks on here that not all have a routine recovery or a supportive team in rehabilitation. Have to say I was surprised they didn’t give me a harder time I was dreading the appointment.

Got fairly good report from orthopaedics team today. My leg still not allowing me to sit leg completely flat, but they didn’t seem worried at all, said its nearly there and will come in time. The bend in the knee was 90% not sure if that’s disappointing or not at 6weeks ? I’m fairly sure I can...

Jakeleg I have also found the site essential for information and support. I actually feel very fortunate to have recovered as much as I have in 6 weeks , some Iv read about on here have really had a tough time. I’m still resting elevating and icing regularly, and find that helps. The cats are...

Tiaint Good to hear from you . I still sit with my leg elevated most of the time and sleep with a pillow between my legs. I figure this helps with swelling and the more comfortable you are, the more rest you get, the quicker I will heal.
