THR The year ahead -> double THR

Today is my 45th birthday, about 10 days post op. Progressing much faster with light use of a cane now. I have continued to do the stretching and exercises while adhering to the restrictions. Some short driving too. Lot's of rest and tapering off the meds. No where to go but up, from here.

So just had a minor freak out. Noticed the LLD this morning, with the newly operated hip feeling/is longer than the other by about an inch. Yikes. So I turned to the forum, and will wait and be patient, hopefully it "settles" I am home from hospital, after just one night, so that is a positive...

THR The year ahead -> double THR

Next day post op. Last nite was tough sleeping on my back, but the pain has subsided, and I have taken a few walks in the hall. So far so good!:yahoo:Not sure if it is the Posterior Approach, or what, but I feel better sooner, than last time with Anterior. I was told it is weight bearing, like...

Not long now. Ready for the big day tomorrow at 2pm. Bad side feeling sore, knee pain, and just good ole fashion bone on bone! A little nervousness because I know what's coming, but excited to make it to 2pm, and off to neverland. Positivity!

Got final pre op approval by the doc today. Ready to go! Just finished some yard work. I'll be gimping for a few weeks ahead, but can't wait to exercise both new hips at once. My right side definitely feels better, so it's an odd sensation with one on the mend, with ROM expanding, yet the lame...

THR The year ahead -> double THR

The saga continues. Just a few weeks until my left side gets done. This one, the doc wants to do Posterior. He had a heck of a time getting an anterior stem to fit, on my right side, and ultimately used a posterior stem for the anterior approach. Hopefully the surgery is short and sweet, with...

Does anyone have any feedback on my inability to perform even a millimeter of a straight leg raise? I did read the ilapsoas(sp) links and exercises. Yet, am hesitant to launch into them, in fear of potentially overworking them at 5 weeks. Suggestions? How about swimming after an Anterior...

Awesome. Thanks for the welcome. Can anyone change the thread subject to replace "bilateral" and say double THR, or something to that effect? You are right, I am not a true bilateral.

What a great forum. I have been pouring over the pre op and post op forums, and would like throw my story into the mix. Also, I appreciate getting my timeline and recovery down, for future reference by myself and others that may have a similar story. Long story short. Diagnosed with...
