So 10 weeks out and I’m starting to feel good again! The Doc told me I’d be better in 2 weeks.. I was not. I went back to work in 4 weeks. That was tough and I believe to soon.
I still have pain in my surgery leg- on the scar (it swells and gets hot) deep in my leg and my butt. My tendon that...
@Josephine ,
I’m 8 weeks out and have a little less pain and a little more strength everyday! I even swam (not good or far) in the Gulf of Mexico ocean last weekend! I am so grateful and hope I give others hope!
That said, I still have pain- now more in the back of my leg and butt muscle...
I’m sorry. I couldn’t figure out how to add to the post! Don’t kick me out pls! I wanted to provide an update!
I went back to work part time 2 weeks ago. I still have a good amount of leg pain but it’s the 12 inch external incision and my muscle was cut from thigh to knee - so it’s healing and...
Well it’s been 4 weeks and I’m back to work ½ days tomorrow. I’m stronger everyday with a bit less pain. Not sure I’m ready to go back - but I want to try as I know my team needs me. This site is a godsend! Far more helpful than my surgeon!
Thank you everyone!
Hi Josephine- my incision is dry and healing but I noticed tonight that it is warm to the touch. I don’t believe I have a fever. The incision just appears to be warm. Is this normal or shall I call the Doc?
19 days out and I’m feeling much better. Pain is manageable and I’m walking w a cane. Although, I’m getting a “click” in my thigh sometimes- it hurts a little bit but is more uncomfortable and worrisome. Is this normal?
I met with my surgeon today and had 35 staples removed. My wound is 12 inches long. He explained that I have a lot of muscle - I’m a solid lady of 5’ 10” and very small bones. He said he has to cut me much bigger and deeper than normally to get to my femur. He said the surgery was a success and...
I thought I was going to die - the pain was unbearable. Everybody said it was going to be great and it has not been. I agree, far worse than child bearing. That was 13 days ago. About day 8 I started turning the corner. The pain is manageable now and I have graduated from walker to cane. I have...
Sure
Thank you. It is getting better everyday now. Less pain and more strength. I just don’t think the Doc’s clearly set the expectations for me or my family. It’s been tough and scary- but I’m on the down hill now. And this site has been so helpful.
Eman85, yes! I’d like to slice the docs...
Thank you so much! It’s a relieve to hear it’s part of the process. My Doc really underplayed the pain. I did call the Doc and got my pills tweaked and it helped. Thanks again - this forum is a breath of fresh air and truth which is priceless.
