All of you have been very helpful and I appreciate it so much. Now I have a new problem....I have a sharp, piercing pain under my knee cap. I can hardly walk with it. No pain while sitting of laying, only when I try to walk. I am hoping it is only from over using it but thought that I would...
I am up and doing all of my own housework now, driving some, volunteering at the Artisan Center, house sitting for a neighbor, etc. I do rest a lot during the day and there is no swelling...I take only IB prophin but do not seem to have any major pain. I guess I could be overdoing some but I...
I could not find my original thread so I am starting a new one. I had a right TKR in August 2012 and left TKR 13 weeks later on Dec. 4, 2012. Total difference between the two knees but have great ROM and can get around pretty good at 16 weeks out. But I feel like both knees are totally not a...
I had my surgery for my ltkr on Dec. 4 and it was totally different from my first surgery. I am not sure that I would have had the other one done if this on had been first. So much pain and swelling but I could walk on it and bare weight from the start. Because of a huge swelling on the side...
I did the same as you..I thought that I had to push myself only to read quite the opposite on here...I am about 10 weeks out and not swelling near as much...I stopped worrying...I am now canning meats, driving, doing some cleaning...and yes there is some pain and I have to rest but the swelling...
My hubby, while not a fantastic housekeeper, has done most everything that I ask him. He finally learned how to operate the dishwasher and I go behind him and do the wiping up. At nine weeks out, I can drive and volunteer a few hours at the Artisan Center. I can work about 15 min. and then i...
Hang in there sweetie...I just had my trk done on August 21, 2012 and getting ready to do the other one in a few weeks...no I am not healed but this way I will get them both out of the way and hopefully be ready for spring...I was the one who expected too much too soon...it takes it's own...
I am getting ready to have my left knee replaced and I had the right on replaced August 21, 2012...I am not totlly looking forward to it but it is like you..just the uncertainly about if it will go as well. I can't walk good with it being so bad, this way maybe they will both heal together...
Thanks for all the input...I overdid it yesterday..I drove for the second time which went very well but I was on it too long and ended up sleeping in the recliner with my electric blanket. I iced it last night but if it gets a little cool during the night it starts to ache..now it is so stiff...
At his stage of the game, I am having good days and bad...about 9 weeks out and walking without cane as much as possible so that my right knee is strong before I have the left knee done. I didn't have both knees done together because I was told it was like 2 major surgeries at the same time and...
Am I crazy or what?? I did well with the first surgery...recuperating has been worse than the surgery but not in a painful way...I just had the expectation that I would jump on the band wagon and be walking in no time...well, although I am doing well, walking without a cane around the house but...
Thanks to each of you...I am wide awake at 3 am and want something to drink so bad...just a little Diet Dr. Pepper would be great...I read a lot yesterday and I am feeling somewhat more comfortable now...just knowing that I DON'T have to push myself is a big plus....I will stay on top of the pain...
I just found this forum and I am having surgery in the morning for my right knee...my left knee is just as bad but I was reluctant to have both done at the same time....I have been reading on here all afternoon...I will try to keep you posted on my progress...yes...I am scared of the after effects.
