As far as talking to the infectious disease specialist or my GP about my situation , I’ve already burned one bridge with the pain clinic....to put myself out there with the other 2 could be DISASTROUS! Doctors should want to hear their patients concerns or questions, but to risk them terminating...
Thank you Jamie for listening to what I had to say, evaluate it and offer a solution to the situation without passing judgement or ostricising me for my actions. Nobody is perfect....I’ve been around 52 years and have yet to find one. My circumstances are incredible and some days the pain of the...
I’ve got a very delicate issue, but it’s something I feel to be very pertinent to my situation. My primary care physician will not prescribe pain medication, so he referred me to a pain clinic which I started going to about a month before I had my last procedure. I was being proactive, knowing...
I learned the hard way about having the best medical staff and how important it is to take precautions about who you are trusting your care to. I trusted a local surgeon and hospital to have my first procedure done. I had heard only good things about the doctor and the facility. About 2 weeks...
@Mojo333 ....I appreciate you taking the time to read all of my gib gab! I tried to be as direct as possible but still write to make sense. My OS told me that that scar tissue will build up and make it where the grinding is minimum. I do use a wheelchair, but on rare occasions....if it’s a long...
@clodaghcov...thank you for the warm welcome! I’m so glad I found this page last night....I stayed up until about 3:00am reading these posts because I couldn’t sleep....seems to be a recurring issue for me lately. I’ve been without my left hip since last July....still having issues with pain and...

8/14/17....full debridement due to infection.
8/28/17....left hip removed and antibiotic spacer put in. The OS had to split the femur open to remove the defective and infected hip. It was then wrapped with wire about 10...
Thank you all for your concern and support and also your knowledge on this subject! I am very fortunate to have a committed wife that has gone through this experience with me. She has attended almost every doctor visit (I tend to get distracted very easily and not think about what the Dr. tells...
Hi @Fractured.....reading your issues and am certainly feeling your pain! I have had my share of issues as well. Hopefully you have been recovering and the Lord has been merciful.
I see that it’s been about 20 months since your first surgery. I’ve got a few questions that I would like to ask...
Infection is no joke and not to be taken lightly. If the doctors did some bloodwork, they would know by having an elevated red count which is an indicator of infection the bloodwork would also reveal your SED rate, which is also an indicator of infection. It’s better to get this checked out more...
A little info on me....I’m a 52 year old man and I live in Texas in the United States. The reason I had my hip replaced was because the ball/socket had fused together.
In the past 3 years, I’ve had 6 procedures done on my left hip. The very first was in August of 2016 which ended up being...
