@bsassy:
I read your threads with regards to the poop fairy issue! Lol! Trust me...you are in great company. I use magnesium caltrate which you can purchase at your local drug store (Walgreens, CVS) etc. It comes in a liquid form in various flavors (I chose cherry flavor). Works like a charm...
@Celle, @Josephine:
Thank you very much for the insight. I will discuss this approach with my PT tomorrow...expecting a bit of push back but will see how it goes.
@Celle:
Interesting approach as that is counterintuitive thinking with regards to the US approach. I can certainly bring this up to my PT tomorrow at my next session.
Hello @Celle:
Thanks for the follow up.
I have been doing these exercises as part of my outpatient PT therapy as prescribed by my surgeon. Are you suggesting that I not do them at PT?
Good afternoon:
I am 5 weeks post R TKR and I am experiencing swelling and stiffness despite icing/elevating 6x per day in 1 hour intervals and gentle PT sessions.
Current ROM 107/6. Pain is managed with Norco 5-325 @ 2 pills every 5 hours as well as 15mg meloxicam 2x daily.
PT consists of the...

Oh my! I laughed heartily at your venting post solely due to the fact that I am at the same point in my recovery and your words reflect how I feel!!
Thank you for venting! You are not alone!

Keep the faith!
Jo and Kelly...thank you for your feedback and Jo I hope you are feeling better!
Kelly...I just started the pool walking and have been cycling for 15 minutes or less. I do have a compression wrap that I am wearing on my knee to reduce the swelling, however, I did not think of wearing it at...
I elevate and ice my knee 2x per day for at least 60 minutes. I also elevate the leg at night while sleeping on pillows as recommended by this forum. My swelling is under the knee cap and at the back of my knee and I do ice both areas. Minimal activity is causing increased tightness/swelling.
Checking back in post LOA ..now at 12 weeks out. ROM has improved but seems to be fixed at 116/0. Increased activity has brought on swelling rebound so backed off from exercises which consist of 15-20 minutes cycling (I have my bike on an indoor trainer) and all stretching exercises. Walking...
Just a quick update to my original thread. My OS performed a lysis of adhesions on my left knee on Dec 1, 2014.
The joint was full of adhesions which were removed and an MUA was performed as well. I am following a non aggressive PT protocol post procedure which mirrors that recommended by the...
Josephine......yes, chose the wrong words for the MUA...my bad!! Yes, ortho did get me to 120 while under for the MUA. The scar tissue may have been broken up but still feels like it remains and impeeds my ROM progression.
I am hoping to receive some feedback from other members who have gone through a similar experience. I had a TKR performed on 5/2/14 on my left knee and developed stiffness in my knee with ROM flex at 98 and ext at +10 while performing home PT and outside PT 3x per week. I was told I had a...
