    THR Over compensating?

Thanks for the replies:-) I’m self employed so just have to grin and bear it! I don’t really do much walking outside of work so I don’t have much use of a cane. Hopefully surgeries will start rolling again soon here in the UK

    THR Over compensating?

Thanks! Unfortunately I can’t use a crutch or similar at work which is the main place I’m on my feet. Hopefully I’ll be able to get a replacement sometime soon:-)

    THR Over compensating?

Hi everyone. I had my left hip replaced 2 years ago and couldn’t be happier until recently. My unoperated right hip started hurting about 7 months ago and I’m now waiting to get that one done, however my left operated hip has now started to bother me in the last week or so. I work in...

    THR Road to recovery

So I’m now 10 and a half weeks post op. I went back to work a week ago and that’s gone ok. I started cycling at 8 weeks and that’s been good too but last night while out for a ride I saw a friend on the side of the road. I slowed down and started cycling next to him while he walked when i lost...

    THR Road to recovery

8 weeks post op. Saw my surgeon at 7 weeks and he gave the all clear for all activities, but to take it steady and listen to my body. I tried going back to work the following Monday but after giving it half a day I went home. A lot of tightness around the scar and I could feel the hip wasn’t...

    THR Road to recovery

Just past the 1 month mark. Went in to see the physio and everything’s on track, I then went for a walk to get some shopping. Boy was that a mistake:-) halfway home I knew I’d gone to far! So I’ve rested up for two days and easing back into things today. Slow and steady’s the way to go

    THR Road to recovery

Hi, Layla. Yesterday I entered my 3rd week. Pain is under control, I’ll take a few paracetamol during the day and take a tramadol before I go to bed (really helps, lying on your back is hard if your not a back sleeper) I’m still using the crutches but can walk fine without. Up and down stairs...

    THR Road to recovery

Well today’s 2 weeks post op. I went in to have my stitches removed and a follow up physio appointment. I’m down to 1 cane although I take both out just in case:-) Had a walk around the shops and now I’m back home relaxing. Any pain is more or less gone.

I’ve got some tramadol from my gp for tonite. The pains manageable sat up but lying down was terrible. A lot better today so far

    THR Road to recovery

I came out with codeine and paracetamol, I can’t take iboprufen because of the thinners and they wouldn’t let me take morphine home with me :-( I’ll get hold of my GP tomorrow. The pain is worst lying flat in bed, I spent the night sat up on the couch

    THR Road to recovery

First night home, no morphine or iboprofen. Tried to sleep in my bed and all hell broke loose. I don’t think I’ve ever experienced pain like that. Take your breath away, struggling to catch your breath, shaking pain! Back sitting upright on the coach!

    THR Road to recovery

2 days out from my TLHR. I won’t lie, it’s been a tough couple of days! Op day I was 2nd in line. After my spine blocker I was rolled into theatre at 10.30 I was sedated and asleep in the time it took to go from one room to the next! I woke during surgery to the sound of hammering. The surgeon...
