@jacey I feel the same way, im not sure how I'm suppose to go thru the rest of my life like this. My doctor said its to prevent dislocation and crossing your operative leg is safer since the alignment of the prosthesis is straight.
@Jaycey I can bend while sitting but I go over the 90 degree limit trying to reach on my operative side. I can reach the other side with no problem.
My doc said thats a life time restriction for me :(
Finally had my post op (4 weeks) visit with my surgeon. The doctor released me back into the general population and lifted most of my dislocation precautions. I am also cleared to drive :happydance::happydance::happydance:
At this point I am getting around with a cane and nothing else, he...
@Hipster Girl point well taken, I'll continue to use the walker, after all its only 11 more days until my follow up.
I recall my doc saying full weight bearing was ok, as long as I'm taking lots of little steps. The walker will help with the lots of little steps, that's for sure
Tomorrow will mark 3 weeks post op for me. I'm finally starting to feel a lot better and getting around the house pretty good. This morning I tried to walk without assistance and I'm able to get around, going from the couch to the bathroom is only about 30 feet or less.
My doctor follow up...

I actually stopped taking all pain medication around 7 days post op, not only did they make me nauseated, I also am severely constipated and cannot sleep. I am starting day 10 post op and I am virtually pain free. I would say the constipation is the biggest issue right now.
Is it normal to feel like a truck hit you? I'm 6 days post op and all I want to do is lay down and sleep.
My appetite isn't great, muscles ache, it's hard to get in and out of bed, I can't get comfortable no matter which position I sit/lay in.
To top in off the pain meds are making me sick...
After months of contemplating surgery and weighing options to avoid surgery at all costs, I finally gathered up the strength (thank you Bone Smart) and completed my Surgery on 11/9/2015.
My surgery was scheduled for 3:00 pm, I checked in to the hospital around noon. I was greeted by my doctors...
I forgot to mention my anesthesiologist had a RTHR in Sept. What shocked me was his ability to manually pump the hospital bed up with his leg. I was floored.
