I had planned on getting down on my knees last night to make sure of where all the pain was but my knees are pretty swollen up right now and I think I had better wait for them to go back down. I want to say from your chart it would be DRF1 through DLF4. The pain is only on the front and it is...
Thanks everyone for your thoughts.
Josephine the pain is in the knee cap area and it is too severe to even get down on a pillow or other cushioning things. I have assumed that it the nerves causing the pain. I want to be able to do exercises on the ground but between my sore knees and one...
I had bilateral tkrs on 7/7/15. I still have trouble getting down on my knees and a kind of numbness on top of both knees. I have assumed the numbness is the nerves still trying to heal. Is this normal? Will I ever be able to get down on my knees without extreme pain? Is it even good to...
My husband was working too so I understand what you are talking about. I know that when the hospitalist came to talk to me about going to skilled nursing, he told me that they had checked and my insurance would pay for part but not all of that and so he wasn't sure if that is what I wanted to...
It may depend on how your hospital is set up. I had bilateral total knee replacements last July and I am also relatively young. In my case the hospitalist was the person that was responsible for getting me to skilled nursing for a few days. I think your OS probably could as well.
SarahJane, I read back a few posts that you were thinking about getting some hiking poles. I don't have hiking poles but I have Nordic walking poles. I've had them for years and I really like them because I feel like they do help my knees. They also are supposed to give you a better workout...
Rob - This is not Jean but I think Jean was in our July surgery group and if I remember right getting bilateral knee surgery as well and about my age. We were the "twinkies" in the July group. Glad to hear you are doing well. Have you started playing tennis yet?
My doctor knew that I planned...
I "graduated" from physical therapy this week and I think I am doing pretty well. I asked what should I not be doing. I know I am not supposed to run, jump and do high impact things or twisting but I still am a little confused. Dancing is supposed to be okay but isn't that twisting? At PT I...
Thanks everyone for your responses. They all tell me I'm doing really well. I'm struggling with lots of swelling still. Rob, sorry to hear you're having ROM issues.
Well, I had both knees done on July 7. I had a few hiccups following surgery, including a low blood pressure after surgery that prevented me getting the pain meds i needed, uti and needing two units of blood so for the most part pretty normal. Everyone is telling me I'm doing remarkably well...
I am super busy trying to get as much stuff done before my surgery Tuesday and it didn't help that we got a lot of storm damage yesterday so I didn't know if I would be back on here before my surgery so I wanted to make sure to let PamelaColorado, Rob 68, boditty know that I will be praying and...
I haven't seen anything from Lhop. The last post that I know of was a few hours before surgery and she was expecting to go home today and would not have a computer at the hospital with her. Hope she is doing well.
I'm sorry I don't know what to tell you to get what you need. Through this process my surgeon and other people I know have told me that they have pain management figured out for patients. I won't know until Tuesday when I have my bilateral done if they are right and hopefully you will have...
