Same for me. Rereading my blog on here gets me through when times are tough. Make one realise that things ARE getting better.
I cried many times...mostly in hospital. I think it was the heavy drugs :heehee:
Good on you @Claud i really take my hat off to you going home alone. I went to rehab for 2 weeks after 5 days in hospital!
I can't even imagine having to do everything for myself at your early stage.
I think you are coming up for 3 weeks post op.
I remember that i was still freezing for another...
I too wondered when this would stop. Or when I would just get out of bed and walk away.
I was so excited when my knees started to look like knees in the mornings.
I'm sorry that I can't remember exactly when it happened but it has been at least a month now. One day you just realise its way...
5 months post op
Things are about the same but everso slightly better. Lucky i have this forum to remind me.
Our property is very hilly, and at first, after my op i really didn't enjoy our visits as it was just too hard. Now at each visit i can see and feel improvement. Yay!
If i concentrate i...
Funny about that. I think we all do.
Its take time...just good ole father time.
My impatience gets better every week.
In my mind i should have been better in 2 weeks!! A bit of a setback and im still waiting:heehee:
Take good care of you, you'll get there
Carol
You will surprise yourself @MissViv18. I needed to be lowered into my beach seat and levered out...now i can sit down and push myself back up!
Enjoy, sounds like just the thing!
Hi @Gaynor
Wow i wasn't even home from rehab hopital until 22 days. I really don't know how you guys cope doing it alone at home!
For me week 1 was pretty much drugged up...never needed to ask for pain killers...they just about arrived on a silver platter...hahaha.
Week 2 was a shocker with...
Hi @Rdhd
My muscles ached and had cramp like feelings like crazy for a couple of months...even now I still get that tight feeling around my knees. Take things slowly its a long process. So I've found.
4 months post op.
Well my miracle certainly didn't happen.
Like everyone i wanted not just quick but immediate recovery.
I am happy that right knee steps up without prompting now. Strength is still a problem. Easy to tell muscle hasn't repaired. Very tight, and cramps when tired or too hard...
Hi @Dickybird, i am a side sleeper, and found having to sleep on my back the pits!
I practiced getting onto my side whilst in rehab. And could sleep on my side for a bit before leaving. And have been doing it easily ever since. I do put one leg way forward tho..ie not on top of each other...
Hi @Mvleaf,
My right leg turned out also.
Pt told me that it was due to muscle weakness.
While my muscle isnt at all strong yet my leg has straightened up. Will take a little time tho!
Good luck.
:hi:
5 weeks is very early and everything is still very painful. Keep up your meds.
Go slowly...we are all in a hurry.
Be careful.
Don't lose what bend you have...so keep doing things slowly and gently.
Its a tough time.
My promise is that as time goes by, ever so slowly you wil begin to feel...
I felt like this too after my accident, but it was really only about going out by myself...or being home by myself! What if i fell?? I cant get up!!!
Thankfully i was able to have a good chat to myself:console2:
Luckily it didnt last too long and i can go anywhere, have even braved some serious...
Btw @Motherbone its been 12 weeks since i got that torn muscle. Its time to try to help it along. Drs advice is it could take another couple of months still!
