I’m actually writing this for my mom who’s going into her 4th surgery right now after total knee replacement, dislocation, hinged knee replacement and now a surgery to clean this deep crazy looking wound. I’m so scared I begged her not to have the knee done but she was in so much pain for so long and finally went for it. Like I said she now has basically the whole incision opened up from fluid and then they put this wound suction machine on but doc wanted to go in change bushings clean up dead tissue and put the machine back on. I came across this forum while researching and seen a picture of someone’s knee that looked just like what’s happening with my moms and decided to write you all, cause I’m scared confused and want her home

Is you mom receiving care from infection specialists, wound care specialists, and a surgeon who has lots of experience with infection?
We have had members who have doing quite well with wound suction, it just takes a long time while the wound heals.
If you click on the red revision prefix in the Knee Recovery forum a list of people with infections will pop up, most recent at the top.
