THR Sciatica flare up after PT

@Layla I am for sure stepping away from PT! I actually knew that I didn't need PT (I hadn't had when I had my 1st THR years ago and I healed up just fine) I wish I would've followed my intuition and just stayed away from PT.....I guess I learned the hard way. I actually spoke to my PT today and...

THR Sciatica flare up after PT

@BellaMac I'm so sorry to hear you are also in pain. It's certainly no fun! I hope some rest and using the cane help you out. @Eman85 I should've followed my gut instinct and not done the PT. I am just pushing forward and hoping for the best.

THR Sciatica flare up after PT

I am 2 months/2 weeks post op from left hip anterior hip replacement. I am healing quite nicely and have no issues with my new hip. My right side however is a completely different story. I have buttock pain that radiates down my non operated side to my foot. I can't stand or walk very well...

THR Sciatica flare up after PT

Thanks for sharing and for your words of encouragement! :) I am 3 weeks post op, have ditched the walker and am using a cane. I've been up and down my stairs and even managed a walk through the pet store! I was tired afterwards and a bit sore, so I took a tramadol and iced my hip. I was able to...

THR Sciatica flare up after PT

Well, I've had my anterior hip replacement done Tuesday July 26th. I had been so afraid about getting the spinal and actually it wasn't that bad. When I first came to in recovery I felt pretty alert, no sickness, just felt like my leg was super heavy. My throat was sore but other than that I...

THR I finally did it! I’m on the other side!

@Gettysburg I am so happy to hear you are home and back with your puppies and hubby. It's those little things that really do count. Sounds like all in all you had a pretty easy time (compared to other stories I have read) and being home really does make a difference with healing. My surgery is...

THR New Member Scheduled for July 26th AMIS Hip Replacement

@Dulcinea14 So glad to hear your hip surgery is going smoothly! I think my fear is with the anesthesia as I am always worried that I won't wake or I'll wake up during the surgery :scaredycat:I am told I am going to have the epidural which I have never had. I think I am going to tell the dr that...

    THR May 25th left hip

So glad you were able to get into a cancellation slot! I would call to confirm about stopping your meds because from what I've been advised to do is to stop all meds one week before surgery. Good luck and just think in a few days time you'll be as good as new!

THR New Member Scheduled for July 26th AMIS Hip Replacement

@CricketHip I, too, have scars on the upper front of both hips. The surgeries were done when I was younger and I was always embarrassed by them as a teenager. People always wanted to know "what happened to your legs?" With my last hip replacement (approx 25 years ago) I now have a scar on the...

THR New Member Scheduled for July 26th AMIS Hip Replacement

Hi There! New member here and wondering how people have done with the AMIS hip replacement. This isn't my first rodeo with hip replacements, last one (right hip) was done about 25 years ago. I was born with dislocated hips and have surgeries since I was about 5 years old. I've had a pin and...
