A small update: I saw the surgeon again today after having a SPECT scan and MRI done of both the hip and knee. He says there is definitely a little “flare” on the CT around the tip of the stem. Our hope is that over time it will get better on it’s own. He says thigh pain like this isn’t common...

So I’m now 10+ months out from my LTHR, and things are no better, if anything it’s worse. I did finally see my surgeon and will attach my most recent X-ray. I also had a SPECT scan done last week and will be having an mri of hip and knee next Friday. The thigh pain is constantly there, and on...

@Layla it’s more complicated in Canada to get personal health records. I will try and see what I can manage.

Just popping back in for a quick update: I still have yet to see the surgeon, so I still don’t have the X-ray photos. His office is giving me the go around and last time I called they said he’s not seeing anyone not already scheduled until at least August. My GP read me the radiology report...

I might, it depends on whether I see him in clinic or not. In clinic he brings them up on a screen. Otherwise, I don’t see the X-rays.

Yes. In that area and when it gets really bad it radiates to my knee so bad that any attempt to walk is excruciating. And yes, I would answer more questions. I did finally call my surgeon and he is ordering more xrays and then we’ll go from there. I will be doing them this week.

Yes I have stopped all exercises, even physio exercises as of last weekend, so it’s been about a week and things have only gotten worse

Pain is L2FZ and L2FY. Smack in the middle. There’s little aches elsewhere that I would associate with normal recovery when comparing to my other surgeries, but this is much more intense and sharp. Also, this pain started before I started working out again. I thought maybe I just needed to...

I’ve gone all week being very easy on the leg. Work wasn’t crazy and I elevated and iced as often as possible. Today has been probably my worst day yet and I literally sat in tears as even the toilet seat hits the wrong spot and triggers the pain. I attempted to wash my feet in the shower as...

    1. Posterior 2. At rest: 1-2, on ambulation or unloading: 7-8. Pain is sharp and radiates from mid thigh to just above the knee. Also I can’t “walk it out”. The further I go, the worse it gets. On occasion sitting in a chair that puts pressure on just the right spot in my thigh will trigger the...

Hey, I found this forum after searching for possible answers, and am glad I found you guys! I had my first hip replacement 5 years ago at age 25, and had many complications (post op infection, revision, months of IV antibiotics, 3 years unable to walk, another revision surgery by a new...
