    PKR TTBONE post op

Who knew that you would lose weight having surgery. Throwing up, Constipation, then trying to run to potty afterwards. I’m at 2 weeks and weaning myself off the walker to a cane. Also weaning myself down on pain meds.

    surgery Dec 11

Thank you. Today was slow only did 4 miles, seem like 50 miles. This can’t come soon enough for me. But have to admit I’m starting to get scared. My father died 4 months ago post-op of Major pulmonary embolism.

    surgery Dec 11

I’m a respiratory therapist , I’m on my feet all day with hardly a break. I did 7 miles the other day and came home crying in pain. My knee is swollen with an effusion and my limp is bad. I told work 6 weeks but have no idea. My Dr. said he would be ready for an TKR if I need it.

    THR Moms4tne's Recovery Thread

So glad you doing great. Tomorrow will be 6 weeks for me. I walked without my cane or any aide for 1.5 miles. Then had to use my cane. It seems like we are on a roller coaster. One day doing great then the next day not so great. I did start driving, but not crazy about moving my leg like...

    One Crutch vs Cane

That's great nogods, I'm using my cane but I'm leaving it everywhere and then I realize doing way to much walking without anything. So then I start getting unstable with my walking, and the aching starts in. Have started swimming which feels great, but tires me out fast. Well off to my next PT...

Gift ideas for the hospital staff

I know that everyone does this, I sent See's candy. But the twist on this is, I sent one to xray, lab, respiratory, admitting. surgery. day shift med surg. and Noc shift med surg, PT. Its not just nurses that take care of us. Its a team.

    One Crutch vs Cane

If Tramadol isn't a narcotic then why do you have to stop taking it to be able to drive. I still take it every 5 hours except at night, unless I wake up in pain. My OS made it very clear to me that it wasn't a narcotic, but helped with hip pain. Now I'm confused.

    One Crutch vs Cane

Think I'm going to go find a cane and see how I do. I have a fit bit on my wrist and watch how many steps I take. Before surgery at work I was doing 5 miles. Right now with a crutch I'm doing 1 1/2 miles and I'm pooped out at night. Dont think I'm going to be ready for work in 3 1/2 more...

    One Crutch vs Cane

Hi everyone, I'm 4 weeks post op and have been using one crutch. Is there any advantage to using a cane instead? I tried to get rid of the crutch 5 days ago and that was a big mistake, took me a day to recover from that. If you do think a cane is better how do you know what kind of cane you...

Open area at top of incision

I let my incision air out. Which meant no panties, mine are nylon so I knew that the incision wouldn't get air and would cause me to sweat. Plus the leg came right across the incision and was tight from the swelling. I hope this info will help you.
