    THR Hip pain 17 months out

    It hurts right on my hip right on the scar from the surgery. Standing or walking does not make it worse. It's sore to touch on my hip where the scar is.

    I am 17 months post op had very little pain in a long time but tonight my hip hurts bad. I have not hurt it in any way. What is going on? Thanks Tom

    Thought I should check in. I went back to work last Monday and it went well planed to do 1/2 day but stayed all day and did so all week. The blues are gone I think going back to work helped. I have been blessed to have this go so well to this point. Thanks for all the support and answers. Tom

    Thanks Jo. As far as my new hip goes I'll be 2 weeks out tomorrow and I think I am doing great. Pain is really gone. I am sore but walking seems to help. I am on a cane now and can walk without a limp if I think about it. And that's what I try to do when walking concentrate on how I am walking...

    Thanks Sharon. I was going by the PT person at the hospital. They gave me a list of exercises and said do them 3 times a day, 7 days a week for 12 weeks. I am going to cut back on that some. I walk around the house a lot so I am moving. Thanks Tom

    Having THR end of Dec. Got some questions

    Well it's here I go in in the morning at 9:00 for my surgery. I have had several surgeries but I am nervous about the recovery on this one. My wife has MS and can't do much so I'm kinda on my own. Guess like all other things I'll just have to trust God and take one day at a time. Here I go.
