I am writing to give a 3 year follow-up since my medial pka. I just ran another marathon and have completed 3 marathons this past year with my best time being 4:15. I have also completed 3 half marathons and ran 2740 miles total since my surgery. I have played full court basketball 104 times...
I am writing to give a 2 year follow-up since my medial pka. I just completed a full marathon Sept 28, 2024 in 4:25 and have completed 3 half marathons in under 2 hours since surgery. I have ran over 1,300 miles since surgery and played full court basketball 74 times for an average of 1 hour...
Sorry for the late reply and hope you are doing well! I was still active up until surgery having ridden a bike about 1300 miles the 8 months before surgery. After surgery, I just followed what my therapist advised which was not pushing it to hard but I was anxious to get back in the swing of...
1 year post surgery update- I just completed another half marathon in 1:55. I have ran 500 miles on my pka and play 1 hour of full court basketball every week. 1 year follow up appointment went well. Doc says come back in 5 years. Enjoying my knee knee!
I finished my mini marathon yesterday just under 2 hours. My knee has zero discomfort but my thighs are sore to be expected. Things are great! If I had any knee discomfort during my training it was minimal and i would take a few days off if I felt is was needed and/ or reduce mileage.
Update: I’m still trying to figure out how to post in the right forum? . I have ran/jogged 200 miles so far since my medial pka 7 months ago. I ran a 26 minute 5k yesterday and am signed up for the Indy mini marathon in 2 weeks. I could not be happier with my outcome so far. I have played...
Good luck pbfeet! I wish you all the best! I don't want to jinx it for us, but I jogged 10 miles yesterday and have been playing basketball full court about 2 times a week for an hour at a time. My knee feels great today.
pbfeet things are still going excellent (knock on wood)! I have played full court basketball 15 times up to now and ran a total of 52 miles. ( I have included my PKA as part of my gear on Garmin so I can keep track) Yesterday I did a 5K averaging 8:58/mile. Not fast by most but I am very...
I am 53 and just had a robotic assisted medial PKR in September and was back to work after two weeks. I started playing some full court basketball this week taking it easy. So far so good! I am very happy with the results so far but I am VERY early into having a PKR. I may or may not wear...
I just had Medial robotic assisted PKR yesterday. Home health left today and my flexion was 123 degree and I was 1 degree from 0 extension. Im not having any pain. (Knock on wood) I guess the hospital pain medicine is still kicking in along with the meloxicam and acetaminophen. I’m going to...
Knock on wood smooth sailing so far!! I had my first home visit. I’m 1 degree away from full extension and measured 123 degrees flexion!! Hoping for no setbacks. No pain yet but probably the residual pain medicine from the hospital. Only taking meloxicam and acetaminophen. Being in decent...
