Hi Kneeper, Thank you for checking in. I'm feeling well now. I'm sure I had some bruising which was causing the discomfort. But all is well. I hope you are having a great weekend!
Hello! TGIF! Apparently, I thought I would end my work week with a bang. I didn't ride my bike today because it was raining cats and dogs this morning. My way home was to catch the bus. They are supposed to come at 15 intervals, but it didn't. I started walking thinking to pick up the next...
Hi Polkadot! Yes, sitting in an uncomfortable office chair can be troublesome. Sometimes, I get carried away and sit for two hours. I'll stand and be very stiff for my first few steps. My fitbit has a reminder that quietly buzzes me each hour to get up with reminders like 'take me for a walk...
SusieShoes and Josephine, I've just finished reading your recovery threads. Wow, very insightful and I feel as if I know you both. I truly understand how comparing timelines means very little. However, I expected a broader range of experiences and I had no idea how much I would get into your...
Thanks for your reply!. I'm having a similar issue with my hamstring. If it weren't for the tightness, occasional popping and being the singular source of pain, I think I would feel much better about recovery. I am now addicted to keeping my fitbit happy, I've had a run of 41 days hitting...
Hi Everyone! Happy Valentines day!
I've just passed the 5 month mark since surgery. Is anyone willing to share where and how they were at 5 months? I've tried to use the search term '5 months', but didn't get many hits. I would also appreciate those who hit six months to tell me where they were...
Hello - fellow Bionic Knee Friends! Prior to the recent 'Wintergeddon' I was riding my bike to work daily with very few pains or discomforts. I had to take the bus for almost two weeks because of the cold, snow and Ice. When It warmed up again enough for me to start riding again, I had a...
I made the decision in the late autumn to stop icing because it was too cold!.. however, I realized that riding my bike to work while it's 13 degrees out might just count as an 'icing session'
MRI's and TKR's
Happy Holidays everyone. I recently had a worrisome PSA score and was asked to go for a biopsy. I've read all about this kind of biopsy and am honestly scared to death. Many recommend a Prostate MRI as it is non invasive, but now that I have this new Bionic knee I wonder if I...
No! No! It ca..ca.. can't be!
I'm recovering very well from my Sept 18, 17 TKR and In the recent weeks I have discovered that I have been compensating a lot of my body movement with my opposite leg (left). I notice that getting up from a chair and other similar functions I have what seems to be...
Josephine, I will change to the Tramadol, which didn't seem to be so helpful in the beginning. Do you expect that I will have any issues changing from Percocet to Tramadol. I'm afraid that I may already be a little dependent on it. This will be a good experiment, perhaps!
Thank you!
Josephine,
Thank you for your helpful answers. Q7 was meant to indicate that prior to surgery, my ride to work on my bike would be 15 minutes. When I first began to ride again after surgery, It would take me nearly 45 minutes. Now, It takes 25-30 minutes.
