    TKR Fall during exercise session

Hi Fraidycat, i had issues walking up stairs only until recently, I am 11 months post op, I managed to walk downstairs easier than up, approx month 8th, it will come! I still cant ride my bike as not enough bend at the knee, again I am sure it will come. Keep trying and one day it will just happen.

    TKR 8 weeks post TKR

Hi all, not posted for a good few weeks. I am now 10 months into my new knee. As my last post I have no issues with pain in my knee, just back from a 4 day break in Barcelona, as you can imagine loads of walking, biggest day was a little shy of 20,000 steps, the 3 other days over 12,000 each...

Not posted for a while, 7.5 months post op, update on results so far, can walk upstairs, downstairs is still a challenge, just come back from 4 days golfing, no pain or swelling. Walking without any limp or pain, can walk 5miles no issues, however still can't peddle my bike, my rom seems to be...

    TKR 8 weeks post TKR

Hi everyone, not posted for a while, I had my 6 month follow up on Wednesday, consultant not too happy with the bend, said I should have more bend, easily bend 90 degree, with a push 100 but not much more. He hasn't discharged me and wants to see me again in 3 months where manipulation will be...

Not been on here much, so little update, 21 weeks post op tomorrow, walking better and further, managing 2 to 3 rounds of golf a week, all be it in a buggy. Still can't ride my bike as not enough bend in the knee, frustrating! Climbing stairs is OK, not pretty and wouldn't chance carrying...

18 weeks post op yesterday. Although feeling OK with my decision to have the op I am feeling down with the fact I still can't ride my bike! I did think that by this time I would be more mobile and not have to rely on friends and my wife to get me round everywhere. I don't drive anymore due to...

Well 16 weeks yesterday and marked that with my 1st round of golf, 18 holes, since the op. Went round in a buggy but still managed 11000 steps, was a little tired when finished but what a great feeling to be able to do something that you did prior. No aches, pains or swelling today, just the...

    TKR 8 weeks post TKR

Well week 15 post op starts today, feel I have regressed over the past 2 weeks, rom is certainly not what it was, can back this up with the fact I can't climb the stairs foot over foot, back to 1 step at a time. The 'steel band' under the knee is as bad as ever, this restricts bend, tightness on...

    TKR A fresh start

I still use the Cryo Cuff, almost 15 weeks post op, I found the ice blocks for cool box great for this, also the cool bags that Hello Fresh send with the food, kept 4 of these so always have 2 ready to put into the carrier, last a full day.

Back from Sunny Spain, nice few days in the sun. Tried the pool on a couple of occasions but seemed quite strange with the small increase of pressure, found it very difficult to even attempt to swim so just walked in the shallow end. My calf and hamstring still very tight, massage seemed to...

TKR Week 8 post TKR op

Hi Susie, I joined this forum at week 8 post op feeling pretty much the same way you are. I am week 14.5 and still struggle with a full night's sleep, it has got better though. I don't drive but don't believe I could ha e at week 8. At week 8 I was at 90degree bend (with some persuasion), now at...

TKR TKR today in the UK - OA + Fibromyalgia

Good news on the reduced pain. I had my RTKR in the UK 20th Feb, some 14 weeks later have almost forgot the 1st 2 weeks. I hope you keep your pain to a manageable level, truly is a long recovery. My pt is of the slowly, gentle and supportive kind, I started seeing her week 2 post op, once a...

TKR How long did it take you to be able to manage stairs normally?

Hi, took me 11 weeks to even attempt to walk upstairs 'normally', I am at 14.5weeks and can walk up most stairs but I still use handrails, it's the lack of muscle that's preventing 'positive' climbing. At week 13 I started decending 'correctly' but i found this very difficult, again I think it's...

    TKR 8 weeks post TKR

That's good news, hopefully it will wotk out for you, keep us updated. I am away on a short break, took a 2hr flight to some sunshine and warmth, unlike the UK. Having a bad day, calf and hamstring muscles very tight, to the point of having to limp when walking....so much for the heat!
