Hiya
The physio said to just get the hip moving and increasing time on the bike rather than increasing speed or resistance. I am currently sat on my bike now doing my 20 minutes, joys of smart phones! I don't want to over do it so once 20 minutes is feeling quite easy I'll increase my time...
Hi Mike
Alway good to read what you've been up to! Also love seeing you posting about your day when it is still the day before here (eg Tues with you but till early Mon evening here).
My physio recommended using an exercise bike to help my hip get moving so yesterday I got a great 2nd hand...
Thanks Billy, it's nice to post positive threads after months of pain which has now gone. I do have a confession though, I'm only a pretend Scot! Been here just over a year but love it and don't plan to ever leave :-)
I am being good and the exercise I'm doing has all been recommended by my...
Great to hear how well you are doing Mike. I wish you lots of luck with the weight loss as his is one of my goals too :-) I am at my heaviest but have stayed at that weight for about 12 months. I'm enjoying being able to do exercise as part of physio and getting out walking
Hiya
I'm excited for you! I'm so pleased with the outcome of my op and thrilled with the way I am already.
I didn't really have any questions at my pre-op because they had already explained what was going to happen. The only thing I wasn't sure about was the physio I'd need afterwards and I...
Hi
I'm 4 weeks post op today and doing great :-)
I have no pain at all and am just getting occasional aching after walking around for about 20 minutes. I'm no longer using crutches at home and just using one when out for reassurance really. I'm not driving yet but seeing physio tomorrow so will...
Thank you for your concern but I don't intend to take no pain relief at all. I was prescribed Tramadol when nothing else was helping the severe pain in my back. I have had no back pain at all since my operation so I don't want to be taking a strong pain killer if not needed. I would rather stop...
Hello!
Just a little up date on day 13 post op. Doing really well and only pain relief I'm on is the slow release Tramadol which I want to reduce but need to do that slowly. I'm having stitches out tomorrow which I can't wait for because I'm healing over the stitches now! Then it is physio on...
:yes!: Welcome to recovery and get you posting on here on your return from theatre lol!
Keep us updated on how you're doing especially how you manage sleeping on your back. 13 days post op and I think I've sussed sleeping on my side, pillows under both legs and propping up the op leg then head...
I think huge improvements so far as no deferred back pain and no real pain I just feel a bit stiff around the hip but not surprised after what they have done to it.
Thank you everyone for your replies x
Adaa I think the procedure took around 3 hours which is what the consultant had expected. At the moment I'm not sure how long recovery will take as it depends on how I'm doing when I see physio in the next week. They will assess me and see if I can start...
Hello and thank you to everyone who sent messages pre op
Well I am now 6 days post op following a HA for a CAM deformity on my right hip. The day before surgery the consultant had a little wobble stating I was a difficult case so he wasn't sure if what he suspected was enough to be causing my...
First of all huge hugs tracycharli what a horrendous time you've had.
See how you get on at the meeting with the GP partner and remember to quote patient charter etc at them. If still no good maybe consider changing surgeries? I know this depends on if there are other surgeries nearby and/or...
