Thanks, I hadn't even considered the MUA and I'd been neglecting the icing. I should have considered all that. Sometimes you just need someone to slap you upside of the head to bring you back to reality. I'm glad I found this site. I'm thankful to have the support of people that have been...
I need a little advice. I think I know what it's going to be but I'll ask anyway. Last Monday, I did my walk. I've been doing 3 miles with no issues so that day I decided to increase it another half mile. The next day I started feeling some sharp but mild pains around my kneecap. I feel...
Yes and it seems like my TKR leg gets stronger every day. Today I did 100 lbs and it seemed like that was way to light. I'll try a little bit more Friday. To be clear, I don't single leg it. I do both legs and concentrate on even load distribution.
Update- Now walking briskly over 3 miles three times a week alternating with weight training three times a week. Getting back close to my old routine of 5 mile walks and weight training. I will probably never be back to exactly where I was weight wise. By decreasing amount of weight and...

Seven weeks post op today. Started adding some light lower body weight training to my routine. Discovered hard way I can't do that and do my walk on the same day. Too much. Some ice and elevation fixed me up though. I'm back to my pre-surgery routine I guess, alternating days of weight...
Just an update. I saw the surgeon last Thursday. He was really happy with where I was at. He basically told me, you do what you feel comfortable doing at the pace you feel comfortable doing it at. You don't need to see me unless you start having issues. I asked about strength training...
Well, my ROM was only 110 before surgery. But, for all I knew this was normal. I don't think I had full range of motion in that knee for years but that never really bothered me. Knee only became an issue when the cartilage took the osteoarthritis train out of town.
I am now exactly 6 weeks out from surgery. I am 66 and had a TKR on my right knee on July 12. I had a previous ACL repair done on the knee back in 2004 because of a very serious but stupid soccer injury.
Before surgery I alternated walking 5 miles, weight training and a physically demanding...

Before surgery I alternated walking 5 miles, weight training and a physically demanding part time retirement job at Target. I've...
