    TKR Never again

Inasboy, under from your six week post you were pretty grim . Aside from the clinking, I was wondering how you feel overall now (since I have just hit the six week mark and just feel like I can't do this anymore...)

I will not be competitive I will not be competitive I will not be..... I was very pleased at PT today, when I discovered I could make the whole rotation on the bike, and that I could flex a full two inches more on the passive stretch machine. And then my ROM measured at 87, and made me feel...

    TKR Thank you!<

I had the same experience at three weeks, a shower absolutely sent me to bed to rest! I find the tramadol to be a waste of time, Advil does more for me .

My Dogs (5 of them) have been thrilled with my convalescence because I have relaxed the "no dogs upstairs" rule so I can have them with me all the time. I love that pack more than my own kids!!!

TKR Dr. vs Ins on pain meds

Week 6 - tomorrow starts my sixth week. Work - disability insurer still says I to back to work at 6 weeks, and my dr. Says 8 weeks, so not really sure what's up with that Pain - so much better, but I thought by now it would be gone, so I am still whining about it. Pretty much down to...

TKR One thing after another with my TKR<

Oh my kelrobin, I am crying for you!! You must be miserable from that knee. Make sure you look at the photos on elevation - I thought I was elevating enough, but I wasn't. Honestly, if that was my knee I would not be doing anything except elevating, icing, and moving between the bed, the...

Knee Infection* The girl with the two fake knees

The oxycodone really does a number on the pooper. I did not particularly like the stool softeners, and found that a suppository worked much much better. I used one every other day for three days, and happily by then my body got with the program and carried on with business as usual.

Littleredcanoe - personally, I am riveted by your recovery and watching like a hawk!!! I am alternating steps upstairs, but still using the cane. And you made me laugh, I keep expecting it to hurt, but it doesn't. Maybe today I will try putting more weight on it. I am surprised that it is...

Knee Infection* The girl with the two fake knees

Jen, you are clearly made of tougher stuff than the average person. Good call to wait until you get the pain under control before you go home!!!

    TKR 5 weeks

Let us know what the dr says. I still have a good bit of swelling , but no redness (although the scar itches a lot). And I find I have to slow my walking way down to make sure I am using the knee like a knee. Left on my own, I keep it straight and limp, but if I go slow, incan bend it and...

    TKR 5 weeks

@BC55 - thought of you today at physical therapy. I go once a week. I think it is a good thing that my knee feels better when we are done than when we start. Also, it means I get a Starbuck's peppermint mocha when I am done. It is a little sore after an hour in the car, but I am elevating...

TKR Dr. vs Ins on pain meds

Today was actually great (in a "I wish I had never done this" kind of way). 7:00 a.m. - 5 mg hydrocodone 8:00 a.m. - 5 minutes of exercise bike (can't go all the way around yet); 3 sets of slides, lifts, flexes, and stretches 9:00 a.m. - processed loofah gourds for an hour (sitting); washed...
