    THR Mudbug's rehab

Congratulations - sounds like you're doing fabulous. I'm on day 9... the "high" I felt of having surgery behind me is over, the family and friends are back to work, the beautiful flowers I received are all but passed and now the real work of healing and recovery begins! This is a wonderful place...

    THR Walking with a limp

Thanks very much @craftdee for your post. I'm nine days out and still using the cane with a significant limp. This information makes me feel less discouraged. My question is about returning back to work. I'm a 50-60 hour a week kind of marketing professional commuting into the city an hour...

    THR KadburyK's recovery thread

Yes, I was 72/50 and they kept pushing fluid through my IV. I also was discharged with a similar result and it's remained steady since I've been home! Gaining strength slowly... trying to stay upbeat but the progress is slow.

    THR KadburyK's recovery thread

All went well with my RTHR on Monday. Unfortunately my blood pressure was too low to let me go home on Tuesday, and in addition, I had uncontrollable nausea. Despite the unpleasantries of not being able to keep anything down I came home Wednesday night. I did well trolling down the hospital...

Weather forecast is gorgeous for tomorrow - great day for my RTHR!

I'm thinking of all my hippies going in for surgery tomorrow. I'm so excited this new journey is almost here. Three months ago I was shocked to learn I needed a hip replacement... now I can't wait. Many thanks to all who came before me. Your humor, words or wisdom and honesty make me feel...

    Am I really ready?

Hi Peg, Thanks so much for reaching out. I'm in New Hampshire on the seacoast. I was totally shocked when the OS recommended I have a THR. X-rays don't lie, when I saw the spurs and bone on bone I knew putting this off wouldn't be a good idea.. my gait and balance is so off. I do take some...

2015 August Hot Shots - Are you having hip surgery in August?

Jane, I'm right there with you. I've spent the entire day getting lost in everyone's story which is a godsend - but, since I was surprisingly told by my OS that I needed a THR (2-3 months ago) my typically controlled depression/anxiety has intensified. Just the thought of being basically...

2015 August Hot Shots - Are you having hip surgery in August?

August 3rd anterior right THR. I haven't really exercised in 2.5 years... I'm praying I feel so great after recovering from this op that I can get motivated again and feel better!

    Am I really ready?

Thank you all so very much for your insight and support. I'm feeling very grateful for everything I'm learning from each of you and others in this forum. Jaycey, I've been reading your exchanges with Joan... both this year's and last year's... I'm glad you're both doing well. I feel so much...

    Am I really ready?

For a couple of years people have asked me every now and then why I limp. Most of the time I didn't even know I was limping. I thought my intermittent pinched groin and stiff hip was the result of no exercise, a 90 minute daily commute and a ten hour desk job. I went to PT for two months which...
