You’re totally allowed to rant! Whatever gets you through!
I hate that you’ve been treated this way. Most doctors only like the success stories. When things don’t go as textbook they literally avoid you-I feel you’re pain.
Keep insisting on answers- you’re entitled to them!
Best wishes!
I’m back!
After my open lysis last November, I have had very little pain. My knee is stronger and I feel that the doctor did an excellent job in “cleaning” it out. Here’s my problem- my extension is great; almost 0! I am still struggling with my range of motion. My quad and muscles as high up as...
Thank you @maryo52. Patience is definitely not my best quality! After all it’s been 3 years! Thank you for your insight. It’s comforting hearing from someone with first hand experience. Surgeons and therapists know medically but your experience is worth more than gold!
@skigirl crazy, impatient me want to know when I can decide if this procedure was a success? When I came out of surgery, the knee was much looser! My husband even commented of how “normal” my walking seemed. At one week, it feels so tight and again I feel like I’m falling back into the same...
@eaglemom you’re right- it IS always something! I had a lysis of adhesions last Tuesday and the tightness really bothers me! I can’t decide if it’s normal and has to resolve itself or something to be concerned about!
We’ll get there! :groan:
Happy thanksgiving!
Bless you @maryo52! I will be praying for you! Praying that we both recover and finally see that light at the end of this loooong tunnel!
My revision was, honestly, a cake walk after all I had been through! You’ll do fine. Try to keep your strength up especially in your quads. Mine really...
@maryo52 thanks for your response. They told me too that I would only get 85! After reading your post I messaged my doc asking for a CPM. I used it with my revision and couldn’t decide how much it helped- but it didn’t hurt either! He’s not a big fan, I, too, have read the research but I’m open...
Well turns out that I didn’t have CRPS. I have been suffering from adhesions/ arthrofibrosis! I had open surgery two days ago (Tuesday) to remove it. Surgery was supposed to be outpatient but I ended up spending a night in the hospital. The surgeon said that it was so much scar tissue on top of...
@eaglemom I’m glad this helps a bit! Sometimes I think that if this was my arm or some other limb, it would be more tolerable. Having pain in something that is weight bearing is no joke! Living with daily pain is totally a bummer!
Hope you you find answers and relief soon!:)
@eaglemom I had the 3rd one today. The doc explained to me that sometimes after many surgeries, the nerves fire and don’t settle down and cause pain. . The nerve block gives relief but really not permanent. He said that it’s the hope that the block gives you relief until those nerves settle...
My revision was in June last year and I’m no better than you! I still limp/wobble when I walk too. I don’t use a cane cause, like you, I thought at 14 months I would be past it!
I’ve seen 2 more surgeons that clearly recommend no more surgery for me. I really don’t know why.
I have gotten 2...
I applaud your courage! I too am 13 months post revision and still not there yet either! It’s been a year long journey of pain and stiffness! My light (?at the end of the tunnel$ maybe my spinal block I’m having next Wednesday. Docs think that if my pain was in control, I could work on my...
@maryo52 it certainly is not fair! I have so many things that has caused my stiffness. Multiple surgeries, MS, and now maybe CRPS! It's been very challenging for me. I eat and sleep this! Some days I can forget and enjoy my life but other days it consumes me. To go from walking 3 years ago to...
