THR Hipster63 on the other side .....

Thank you for that fast response. The area on my hip is achy this morning. I'm trying not to read too much into this other than I just overdid it yesterday. I've only been full weight bearing for 3 weeks now and I'm slowly becoming more mobile. I'm tired of resting and want to get out - after...

THR Hipster63 on the other side .....

Would it be considered normal to experience a clunking feeling 10 weeks post op? Yesterday I was determined to get out of my house. I wore the ankle brace and of course used my cane. I spent maybe a total of 1 hour in 2 different stores. I was exhausted when I got home. Last night I felt that...

THR Hipster63 on the other side .....

Hi all - not much happening but I thought I should check-in. I'm off the walker, using a cane. I don't always use the cane but if I don't my limp is pretty bad. The oddest thing happened. I somehow sprained my operated hip/ankle ankle. I didn't fall, twist or stumble. The only thing I can...

THR Hipster63 on the other side .....

I ditched the walker and started using the cane. But OMG - the pain in my knee (same leg as hip) is really slowing me down. And my aching, stiff back as well. Both of these issues popped up a few months into my first recovery. My knee hurt so badly, I had to have an injection. That helped, so...

Hip Infection Excellent recovery until it wasn't

@919THR Your post is so timely :-) I've been no weight bearing on a right hip revision for 7 weeks. I got the go ahead to put weight on it this past Tuesday. And yep, I was so anxious to do things for myself, I pushed too hard. I'm paying for it with a throbbing hip. Ice and rest on order...

THR Hipster63 on the other side .....

I had my 6 week checkup today. All went well. The Dr's waiting area was packed - I've never seen that many patient's at his office before. I started thinking - he (Dr.) will only see me for a brief few minutes, I have so many questions" We did wait for about 1 hour before I was called. I had...

Revision THR Continuing thigh pain from failed osteointegration?<

@TerryB_TX I've been very accepting of my limited mobility until just recently. This walker is driving me nuts! My shoulders ache from their new job of holding me up with every step, haha. Lots of new aches and pains this past week. I have not left my house for 6 weeks. I am noticing atrophy...

Revision THR Continuing thigh pain from failed osteointegration?<

@TerryB_TX Good to read you are progressing. I'm impressed you are walking that far. I can only dream of that! I'm pretty sure the PT you are seeing is the same one Dr K referred me to. Sam? If so, I admire him so much. His approach and manner are above any PT I've encountered. He is...

THR Hipster63 on the other side .....

@Layla Dr's PA viewed a pic I sent him - just to be safe he wants me to put some steri-strips over the area. I see the Dr for my 6 week checkup on Halloween. Obviously this incision is a bit of concern and then the biggie - when can I put weight on the leg.

THR Hipster63 on the other side .....

I need some advice. I attached a pic of my incision. Surgery was 9-19. All the "strips" fell off yesterday revealing this. I'm concerned about the obvious red area. It looks open to me. I sent a message to my Dr's office but have not heard back. I put a bandaid over it but I know that's of no...

THR Hipster63 on the other side .....

@Layla Thank you. Silverlon bandage is off - siri (??) strips will come off on their own I was told. I can shower without worry of getting the area wet. Still nervous about that - just want to be sure all is ok. Some soreness in the groin area from time to time. I can't do much as it's tough...

THR Hipster63 on the other side .....

Yes, I like many of those. Biggest problem is hubby prepping it. But yes, I have cheese sticks and many cheeses in the house, Turkey, chicken ..... I had a small piece of filet, broccoli and potato (with cheese) for lunch. Pasta with meat sauce, more broccoli for dinner. About to have ice cream...

THR Hipster63 on the other side .....

@Mojo333 Oh yes ! Dr ordered me to eat 80 grams of protein a day! That's hard to meet. Steak, eggs, cottage cheese. And to increase my calcium intake. It's exhausting, I'm tired of eating and hubby is sick of cooking :-) And I love ice cream!! But hate those nasty tasting protein drinks!

@Mojo333 - yes I do ankle pumps a lot! I tighten my glutes and quads throughout the day. Hoping to keep what little muscle tone I got back after losing sooooo much the year following the first awful surgery. I'm 5'7" and 119 and there's not a lot of muscle :-)
