Hi hon. I just read your thread and it sounds like you are recovering pretty well much like my first hip. I would have a string of good days and then maybe 2 bad ones up and down for 6 weeks and then all for the most part was well. I'm sorry that I haven't been on until today I was kept in the...
@Cynthia777 Hi there!! My week went okay. It was pretty busy once we got the news that my surgery had been bumped up. I had two days of all pre-op and have kept busy getting ready for when I come home to recover. My sleep hasn't been the best and today for some reason my anxiety levels...
Glad to see that you came through surgery and now on the road to recovery. You did a lot of moving for the day of surgery. I didn't have sitting in the recliner until the next morning. I hope that the rest of recovery goes smoothly for you. Just don't forget that you are recovering from major...
Hi there. I have a clotting disorder and take lovenox shots daily as a blood thinner. I just stopped them since surgery for me is Wednesday but I will restart them on Friday. With my last surgery was the same way. They put scuds on my legs in bed and sent me home with compression socks. My...
Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. It really helps to know others understand what I'm going through. Got through all three of my pre op appointments today and it all went well. I really like my surgeon he is nice but blunt and to the point. Although I feel calmer I still have anxiety...
Hey Y'all I hope that everyone here is doing well. I used to be known as hippityhop but I forgot my password so I made a new account.
It has been a roller coaster ride with trying to get my right hip done. Since July it has been cancelled three times once a very last minute cancellation. Today...
Hi. I have my surgery on March 2nd. It is the right hip as my left one was done last April. I thought that my surgery was going to be in early April but they just changed it to next week so I'm just going to jump in and hope all goes well.
I feel that it's too risky for me to drive so my husband will be driving the entire way and we're taking 3-4 days to get out there. Thank you for your concern and I think for our next trip I'll definitely consider the train although by then I'll have two new hips!!!!!!

Hi there!! It's good to hear from you and that you're doing so well. :) My surgery and recovery was quite uneventful as well once I got past the first week where I tried to do too much and pain levels went up. My left hip feels and looks really good it's the right one that is decided to go down...
Glad to hear that all went smoothly. Now let your body rest and your hip heal. I tried to do too much too soon with the first hip so this next time around I'll be slowing my pace just like the nurse in your pre-op class said to do.
Looking forward to see how your recovery goes.

:hi:
I live in the Northwest and have KP and for my first hip once I decided that I wanted to have surgery it took only 4 weeks. The scheduler said they were ranging from 4-8 weeks out depending on the doctor. That was to have surgery. When I was first referred for a consult that took about 3...
My hip is really bothering me today which is making me wonder how it will do on the road trip that we're taking next week. It's 1,200 miles of traveling each way which worries me but I keep telling myself that if we take rest stops when I feel the need to move around that everything will be...
