Yes, it really does feel like whack a mole sometimes! My knees are improving, but my left hip has been really sore (my right one is already replaced) and my back, wrists and shoulders have been hurting too… I hope you can get your UTI under control so that you don’t have to worry about it as...
Hi @EalingGran ! Sorry for the slow reply; I haven’t been on here much: my life has been pretty boring, and I’m so tired of talking about my poor health!
I’m okay, thanks. I’m recovering much more slowly than I’d like to, and I’m quite frustrated, and everything takes very much more effort...
Hi @Hairxtrordanair . So sorry to hear this. You have my complete sympathy because, as @EalingGran said, I experienced something similar… tho not quite the same.
I had my RTKR in mid April and my LTKR at the beginning of June, but unfortunately, the first time I got out of bed after the L...
Thanks @Layla . I’m lucky that my consultant is very clear on his advice about exercise and movement: if it hurts stop doing it!
Sleeping in my own bed after all this time is a great treat… Sadly, though my dog won’t come up for a cuddle yet!
Yay! That’s all sounding fantastic - I’m delighted for you and it’s also very encouraging to hear! :yahoo: :loveshwr:
I hope I can get back to 5 mile walks some day :fingersx::)
Thanks @DogTiredKnees - it has been off for a week now. My legs are slowly strengthening. I can’t yet lift the broken knee when it’s fully straight, but I can lift it if I bend it slightly. And I can climb up and down a flight of stairs, one foot at a time, with a crutch… But that’s good enough...
RTKR 15 weeks (surgery 11th of April 2023);
LTKR and right patellar avulsion fracture (surgery and fracture 2nd of June 2023).
Nb: Taken the day that full extension leg brace was removed after 7.5 weeks . Note muscle wasting on right.
Oh, @Layla / @sistersinhim , please could one of you change my thread title to “Two TKRs and a broken kneecap, but on the mend now, I hope!” TIA :flwrysmile:
Big news! I saw my consultant today and he has cleared me to remove the brace that I’ve been wearing since my kneecap was fractured on the 2nd of June!!
:yahoo::spin::dancy::happydance::egypdance:
So my patellar avulsion fracture has healed well enough that I can now begin to bend it and walk...
Yes, I do have loving, caring friends, and sons. I am lucky. :) :-) (: The tricky thing is that very few of us are retirement age - so almost everyone works full-time, and those that don’t are caring for elderly relatives and/or grandchildren, which means people have very busy lives. We don’t...
Thanks everyone. :flwrysmile:
The sciatica did in fact coincide with me coming off morphine, which I had been carefully tapering/reducing and then had stopped. After the second night of awful sciatic pain and almost no sleep, I cracked and took a dose of morphine again on the third - and slept...
