    THR No pain

Thanks for the correction. Of course, one should always consult with one's doctor as individual factors could affect the recommended maximum dosage. Sent from my iPhone using BoneSmart®

    Exercise 9 months post op

Thanks Alex, I guess I shouldn't be so worried, although my OS did warn me to be careful of certain poses. But perhaps my situation is different. Thank you for the reassurance. Sent from my iPhone using BoneSmart®

    THR THE LONG RECOVERY

U may want to be checked out for back problems. I have a friend with similar symptoms. Turned out to be spinal stenosis and disc problems. Physical therapy directed at pain relief and gentle exercise may help. Best for your recovery, E Sent from my iPhone using BoneSmart®

THR Post-op pain - diagnosis and management

Hi Dancin, My pelvis was pretty much shattered 7 years before I was finally able to get my THR, so don't worry, I am happy to be walking, very different from your situation. Seems to me that u have answered your own question. Go back to the walker for a week or so, then back to cane, etc...

    THR No pain

Targin is a mix of oxycodone and naloxene. Naloxene actually inhibits some of the effects of oxycodone. Not sure why u were prescribed this. Can certainly understand why it didn't work. Naloxene inhibits euphoric and other effects of oxycodone (appropriate for opiate addicts) and decreases...

    THR No pain

I don't think this discussion re pain management is now appropriate for this thread, which is actually someone else's. Sorry Targin, whatever that is, caused u discomfort, but Tylenol is also a strong pain med with its own potential problems, especially to the liver. Opiates can be much safer...

    THR No pain

Haha I agree. Not much fun, but worth it in the end. I was on a walker for the months before my surgery. U might want to take a look at my recovery thread. All the best E Sent from my iPhone using BoneSmart®

    THR No pain

To both A and S, I meant no offense. But there is no value or heroism in not taking pain meds. In fact, when the body is in pain, and it is not relieved, from what I have read, stress chemicals take over and prevent the body's healing compounds from coming out to work on the trauma caused by...

    THR No pain

Sabresfan, Did not mean to offend. So around 20 days on oxycodone with Tylenol. As it should have been. So happy that u had a relatively comfortable experience and were properly medicated. Best for your continued recovery, E Sent from my iPhone using BoneSmart®

    THR No pain

A, I did not mean to offend at all, but in your early post u did write that u were taking Tylenol plus pain pill. So happy to hear that 11 days out you are feeling so well and feel that you now can get by with Tylenol only. Congratulations ! Do be careful about your dosage. Currently in US...

    THR No pain

No wonder u felt comfortable. U were properly medicated for pain, as u should have been. Does not mean that u did not have pain, just that it was managed. Sent from my iPhone using BoneSmart®

    THR No pain

Percocet is actually oxycodone plus acetaminophen (Tylenol). So u were taking one of the strongest prescription pain meds available orally in the US. Sent from my iPhone using BoneSmart®

    THR No pain

Percocet is considered a very strong pain medication, reserved for severe pain. What dosage were u on ? And for how long til u got your stitches out ? So, u were comfortable pain wise while on a very strong pain medication ? What is your point ? Sent from my iPhone using BoneSmart®

THR Post-op pain - diagnosis and management

For me, it took 2½ years to feel recovered from my complex THR. It will never be perfect as it is not my natural, original joint, but getting about fine now. Os's really only know about the bones and implants. Everything else is soft tissue stuff and takes a long time to heal. Implant companies...

    THR No pain

No THR is gentle. All done with heavy duty tools and extreme manipulation of the limb. Check it out on YouTube. U can watch whole operations. That is why slow and easy and taking meds on schedule is important. Pain free THR impossible. Sent from my iPhone using BoneSmart®
