    TKR TKR Recovery Journey

Hi Newkneemelodee, (Love the name). I don't know my numbers, nor do I have any interest in knowIng. To me, it was a huge relief and blessing to read of people with normal bend now who didn't even exercise, or if they did, didn't overdo. You should see the exercises the surgeon's office is...

    TKR TKR Recovery Journey

Hello to you all! I just wanted to update you on my healing, in case it might be useful to someone. June 2nd will be 3 full months from my RTKR. I have had 2.5 months of pain, some depression, lots of sleepless nights and frustration. There have been many times I just wanted to rip the whole...

Dear Mods, would you please change my thread to something like TKR Recovery Journey? TY! I read somewhere recently about moving from walker to cane too quickly and it was a post that I am so happy I ran across!! My surgeon's office had a written handout with my post-surgery appt. on it that I...

    TKR Aftercare issues

My surgeon said the same thing to me! After finding this forum, I realized that it was just another instance of one-size-fits-all medicine that wasn't working for me. I'm almost two months out from my surgery, have daily log leg, pain and swelling. Why on earth would I want to make it...

    TKR TKR Recovery Journey

I wish I could, but after trying several times, I came to the conclusion that I just don't get comfortable to sleep with my leg up. I'm a side sleeper and sleeping on my back is not an option if I want to get real sleep. I do use a pillow between my legs for comfort. This morning when I woke...

    TKR TKR Recovery Journey

I did too much the night I had problems, so I'm sure you are correct in this. Trying to figure out what will be "too much" at this stage is difficult. I try not to aggravate my knee to swell more than it already is. I wake up with it already swollen a bit every morning. Trick is to keep it...

She prescribed 300-600 mg to be taken at bedtime. Last night, I took 600 mg and slept well. I woke up once, changed position and then went right back to sleep. As long as I can get to sleep, the RLS doesn't bother me. I hope the Gabapentin continues to help me sleep, even though it's not a...

Yeah, it does seem to be strong, but last night it didn't even touch the restless leg until I ended up taking 3 (300mg) caps! Then, I didn't wake up until 9:45 this morning! I'm not sure if that's bad or good, but at least I'm getting sleep.

Thank you both for the encouragement! I have been taking Gabapentin for the RLS these past two nights and I've enjoyed two long nights of uninterrupted sleep. Insert Hallelujah chorus here!

Thank you all for being so supportive! Sometimes it just feels better to whine to understanding ears! My boss thinks I should be back in another week or two because a major fundraiser that I usually run is coming right up. Ummm, I can barely stand for more than 10-15 minutes without my...

Thank you, Pumpkin and FCBayern! This has made a wuss of me, but you all are so kind it helps, it truly does. I think I had topic and thread confused and wasn't sure if complaining about feeling overwhelmed was its own thread. So am I understanding right that I just keep posting to this thread?
