Countdown to first surgery (through the spouse's eyes)

Ok guys, I had to take a HUGE leap back with my other posts...I felt they were getting a LOT too personal on here; having said that, I am back and would like to fill y'all in on the outcome and the new TLHR recovery. Again, I am sorry I left you guys, I really am...it was, like I said, getting...

Countdown to first surgery (through the spouse's eyes)

Thanks @jaycee. Do you think the anesthesiologist didn't realize he was awake? He said he didn't feel a thing though, so that is a hell of a relief. When we left, he was in no pain because of the spinal still I guess. About 3 hours into our 5 hour trip home, he really started feeling the pain...

Countdown to first surgery (through the spouse's eyes)

Well this is my final post in this thread. I am back at hotel room, wish to God I could have stayed longer with him in recovery, but I am wiped out. It has been a long long ordeal, but finally and emotionally it is over. He did say that he was awake through whole ordeal with spinal. I won't go...

Countdown to first surgery (through the spouse's eyes)

Doc came out 45 minutes ago and said it was a total success!! More damage than he thought, but not one issue. I haven't got to see him yet, still waiting for that. As long as he can pee, walk, and has tolerable pain we can go home tomorrow. Longest day ever!!

Countdown to first surgery (through the spouse's eyes)

Ok. He finally started his anesthesia and I was told to leave. That was an hour and a half ago. Meantime, I went back to room and had a beer ands short nap and walked back to waiting room. Al we can do now is wait. I can't believe it goes so fast with anterior approached. I did ask surgeon, dr...

car is all packed, I am pacing to get on the road...so, what does hubby do? Takes a nap?!?! He hasn't even showered yet and I want to be on the road by 11. Lol, he is such the dog-asser. Although I a bit annoyed, I can't imagine what he is going through and the stress he is having with his...

Countdown to first surgery (through the spouse's eyes)

Today is the day we make the 5 hour drive to st Helena for surgery tomorrow. We are both a wound up mess lol. Got the rent a car yesterday, now I think it may be too low for him to get into and out of easily, comfortably, and safely with new hip. I asked him to check it out before we got it...

Countdown to first surgery (through the spouse's eyes)

@rugmankc what you said is so true about the emotional stress his pain and recovery are all I can think of every day and every minute. I get emotional when I read the posts on here about how quality of life has increased and I can not wait for that to happen to him. He better be as good to me...
