    THR Physical Therapy Experiences

I find it almost kind of weird! I've been so accustomed to having chronic pain, now that I no longer have it, the absence of it is noticeable. It is as if it were institutionalized Stockholm Syndrome style pain. Clearly I prefer not to have pain, but it may even take some getting used to.

    THR Physical Therapy Experiences

Hey Team, It's been now a few months since lefty got replaced. Things are great! I am still doing physical therapy and over just the past couple of weeks gained a significant amount of strength in my most recently operated leg. The recovery there has been slower but luckily has started to pick...

    THR 6 days post surgery

I had Lefty done in October and Righty done on December 9th, so not too far ahead of you on that hip. I had, and still have some sporadic nerve pain. It wasn't too much, but if I moved too quickly, inadvertently hit the incision, or something to exasperate it, then it would flare up. The nerves...

Depression/post-op blues - open for all

@CatchAll I was in a similar situation. I'm 43 and had my left one done in October and had my right one done in December. I went to a surgeon about 12 years ago with pain and some problems. I was around 30 and it was rather daunting to face down a hip replacement surgery then. Hip resurfacing...

I'm 17 days post-op. I did my 2 week follow-up a few days back, and everything is as it should be. I'm still notably weak and lack flexibility on my new hip. It's still trending behind what my recovery looked like earlier. In fact may have taken a step backwards as I was using a cane for a few...

Log Leg! Nice. First time I've heard that, but I think that is basically what was happening. I'm starting Day 6 post-op. I was finally able to do some heel slides last night, Day 5. In comparison when I had my first one done a few months back, I was able to do all of the exercises on Day 2. It...

A few updates. This is starting Day 5 post-op. I feel like I am 2 days behind my recovery curve compared to my first surgery. Every day is a bit better - except for the first two which were basically like no progress. I have been able to do most of the basic exercises given to me by the...

That sounds rough! I had a spinal that wore off shortly after surgery so I didn't have that problem. I'm hoping all the best!

When I sit or lay down, I can look at my knees and the crevices and bits and parts and they seem to line up. I still have so little control on my operated muscles it's hard to be objective. I think I'm good, it just all still fells like a wreck.

It is brutal for me! I've basically been in my recliner all through the day, and when I need to use the restroom getting on the walker is crazy hard. It takes the wind out of me. It feels like I ran a marathon. Well, not that I know what running a marathon feels like, but I can use my...

I had Righty replaced in mid-October. In my opinion it was very successful. I did a few weeks of outpatient physical therapy which was massively helpful. There is no way I would have progressed as far as I did if it were not for PT. On December 9th, I had Lefty replaced. There was more...

    THR Physical Therapy Experiences

Another check-in here. Everything is going well. I started my outpatient PT last Friday. It felt super good to get some mobility going and having the muscles worked. It's kinda hard but in that good kind of way. It gives me that muscle soreness like from going to the gym, and not muscle pain...

    THR Physical Therapy Experiences

So checking in. Stretches are going well. I scoured the internet for some additional ones to do, and I'm adding those to the mix. I've been adventurous and been doing up and down some stairs. I like the stretch of going upstairs. The pain is ebbing. Mostly just notice the muscle soreness at...

    THR Physical Therapy Experiences

I just had a right total hip replacement about 5 days ago. I've been feeling pretty darned good and been doing my prescribed home exercises. I was told some conflicting information about PT. Now it seems like they will get back to me after my two-week post-op follow-up. In some internet...
