@poptarts...just checking up on you...hope all is going well...We are going through a frigid winter and I don’t think it’s helping with my healing. I plan on returning to work next week (part-time) but now questioning my decision....not much movement involved...my biggest challenge will be...
@Idefix...hi I notified we had our TKR on the same day. I spent 1 night in the hospital and had 2 weeks of home health care. I’m now attending PT at a facility. I’m still having trouble walking properly. Hope your recovery is going smoothly.
@Didot it was 4 months between my TKR....the first one was done in the summer and the second one in the winter. I live in the Midwest (USA) and I’m beginning to think the summer recovery was easier because it wasn’t so cold and damp. Will soon be entering my 8th week of recovery and still...
5th week of recovery from TKR ...I haven’t seen or felt any improvement during the past week...weaned myself from walker to cane, but I’m finding that I still need to occasionally depend on the walker...my recent discovery is that it seems like my new surgical leg is shorter than my other...
@poptarts ...I just had to say hello, because ever since my TKR I’ve been craving pop tarts..good luck with your recovery...I know you’re still going through the real challenging part right now...it does get better.
@NavyGunns ....thanks for your continued support...today I’m going out for another adventure...a friend is taking me out to lunch...also, today I took a few steps without any assistance...a major breakthrough!
@Newboots thanks for your encouragement...I think I’m finally starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel..hubby dropped me off at the hair salon yesterday and then I went to dinner with a friend...I was able to sit comfortably for a cover hours, but had to elevate and ice when I got...
@bungalow I was delighted to hear from you...sounds like we’re going through similar journeys...what was most difficult for me this time around was the emotional turmoil, but I’m happy to say that I woke up this morning feeling pretty darn good (mentally)...and yes even physically. No PT today...
Today marks the beginning of my 4th week of recovery. I was comforted by my PT when he told me I was exactly where I needed to be and that I was going through an average recovery. He told me to stop comparing this surgery to my prior TKR because that one was exceptional and doesn’t happen each...
@Josephine ...hello...yes, I would like additional support and am willing to answer some questions...thanks
...well it’s officially 2019 in my part of the world...slept right through it! My husband asked if he should wake me @ midnight...I just glared @ him...New Years resolution...be kinder to...
...so I’m still trying to navigate around on my new knee and this forum...I don’t know how to reply to individual responses, but I think there’s a technical area on this site which will help me. Thanks to everyone who has responded to my post. I’m grateful to have found all of you who have or...
Jaycey thanks for your encouragement. I know I should not compare and am grateful that my first TKR went smoothly because I probably wouldn’t have had my second as quickly as I did. My surgeon’s nurse told me that my knees are sisters, but not twins, that did make me smile.
Hello I’m new at this so I hope I’m posting correctly.
I am 3½ weeks post op and feel like I’m regressing. I’m still using the walker and have been suffering from pain below the knee that travels to my ankle and foot.
I previously had a TKR on 8/8/2018 and made a speedy recovery with minimal...
