THR Heal first, then exercise, then dance!

Dear Layla, thanks for asking about old leftie. The last time I gave an update here I was just on the verge of booking an appointment with my family doctor to get the ball rolling again for hip #2. But soon after, everything felt okay. I was fine, no pain, no disability, and all proceeded...

THR Heal first, then exercise, then dance!

@SurreyGirl , it was great to meet up with you. I'm squirreling away my air miles for another May trip next year, so we can plan another meetup. Except of course if I am recovering from surgery in May...that's if I wait until next spring for the op--so, no! better not book the op for...

THR Heal first, then exercise, then dance!

@SurreyGirl and @Barbaraj , I really appreciate your feedback; I know it's coming from a been-there-done-that place and it helps me pull back for a longer range view. "Noticing some aching" is exactly where I am now. It's a matter of reconciling 'some aching' with 'major surgery' I guess. It...

THR Heal first, then exercise, then dance!

@Layla , 'Plagued by the chatter' , nicely phrased! That internal chatter, just two days ago when I felt the long low hour-after-hour bass note of impending doom running down my left leg... the chatter was telling me ; "okay, that's it! On Monday book that appointment with your doctor and get...

THR Heal first, then exercise, then dance!

@Going4fun , you have nailed it. I'm glad to have your thoughts on this matter. I will respond at greater length later, as I have to run out the door for an event booked months ago. Is that cool or what? I am "running" out the door. So much better than "I have to hobble out the door now...

THR Heal first, then exercise, then dance!

@Layla , Three years ago The OASIS Clinic told me that my left hip was "moderately severe". I took a screen shot of the XRay, and posted it above on page 29 of this thread. They operated on the right hip--"severe"-- first. There was an assumption both would have to be done... kind of a "which...

THR Heal first, then exercise, then dance!

Hello dear @Layla , thanks for the kind enquiry. I am doing okay. To very briefly recap the past few months, I was sick in April, spent May getting back up to speed (but feeling rather weak and pathetic), June was better as I ramped up my activity more and more and became stronger, and here we...

@Mojo333 and @Layla , I take photos with my iPhone, and then re-size them with a PaintShopPro program. I also adjust the image, tweaking contrast & saturation, and use filters to give them a more lustrous and painterly appearance.

THR Heal first, then exercise, then dance!

@Debru4 , I'm not sure exactly when I will return. I haven't booked a return flight yet. However I am meeting a Irish friend here on June 4th, so it will be after that I fly back to Canada. It also depends on circumstance here where I am staying. I am being a companion to my friend while a...

THR Heal first, then exercise, then dance!

Greetings @Alitm , @SurreyGirl , @Going4fun and other Hippie friends. Alitm, I am so sorry to hear about your case of shingles. A couple of years ago I went through that ( but no rash, so it was assumed to be zoster sine herpete (ZSH) ) and it was a killer. I was struck down at the family...

THR Heal first, then exercise, then dance!

Hello fellow Bone-smartie friends. I haven't been posting much, but I do try to keep up with the conversations, usually by way of my iPhone; the screen keyboard is so teensy that I can't face trying to type out any posts. However I'm on the 'big' laptop today, so thought I'd sail in with an...

THR Heal first, then exercise, then dance!

@Debru4 , re: Did the study show a correlation with drugs/medication/anesthesia and the brain fog? The article was mostly focused on "the feasibility of using an online assessment tool called the Cambridge Brain Sciences battery to detect cognitive problems in ICU patients". I didn't see...

THR Heal first, then exercise, then dance!

Yesterday's Globe & Mail newspaper --Saturday April 13th-- had an interesting article in the first section about brain fog. The title of the article is : Study highlights online tool that could help track progress of patients released from ICU, (a study by the University of Western Ontario's...

@Debru4 , I will copy my post above, and respond on my own thread so I don't derail Alitm's thread. cheers, A

THR Celebrating one at a time, encore!

Hello @Alitm , I don't know if you read the Globe & Mail, but yesterday's paper --Saturday April 13th-- had an interesting article in the first section about brain fog. (I think it was you I was discussing brain fog with, but because of the brain fog, my memory may be messed up ;) Anyway, the...
