THR Denny's Anterior Hip Recovery

Day 62

Denny had a very quick check up two weeks ago and they said he was fine. He is doing way too much, mowing, moving boxes, cleaning and went back to work part time. He still limps and feels pretty much the same as he did before the operation. So that's odd, don't know what that means, good or bad. He is going for anther check up this Wednesday. Waiting for the pain to cease and feel the difference. Could be a while we guess.

We have been very busy because he suddenly lost his father two weeks ago, he passed peacefully in his sleep with relatively good health at 92. So that has been hard on him, says he wasn't just his father but his friend and will miss him greatly.

My sincere condolences to your husband. Losses are tough but during a recovery is especially hard.

Has your husband really given that hip the rest and TLC it needed to heal? Mowing, cleaning and moving boxes are all activities that aggravate a healing hip. And if he is back to work that adds to the impact. Perhaps back off from all that activity and see if resting, ice and elevation eases his pain. Then slowly increase the activity level.
