Question about pain meds after a spinal and femoral block
I had the PCA machine after sugery as well. As soon as my leg started tingling I started pressing that button. Mine was dilauded. Switched to oxycondone on day two. Transition was rough so I had a little more dilauded. The nurses took really good care of me.- Scarey

Patellofemoral Joint Replacement
I am having the same procedure on Thursday. My doctor was quick to say that if it doesn't look good then he will do a total. That made me very comfortable with him. While I would prefer the pfjr at this time, I am perfectly fine if he decides to do a total. Be sure to ask.- Scarey

Having BTKR surgery July 11, 2012 "Looking for support"
Good luck on the 11th. I am having one knee done on the 12th. Based on my pre-op classes, if you specifically tell them you have no one to care for you at home (especially with a BTKR) they will automatically discharge you to a care facility. Call the doctor's office and express your concerns...- Scarey

Doubting Kathy
Kathy, my surgery is next week and I am having a lot of the same feelings. It helps to read here that I am not alone. Everytime I doubt the necessity, I look at my dogs and think about when I will be able to walk them again. Hang in there.- Scarey

They say 35 is too young--so upset!!!
I would ask your regular ortho to refer you to another doctor. One that has a heart and a brain.- Scarey
