    TKR Definition of Bravery

I was given a frame that fitted round the loo so I could push myself up from it. Very handy.

    TKR RTKR 2nd March 2022

I hope I’m writing in the correct place. Since my op on March 2nd my knee has continued to improve and the joint itself is working beautifully. There was a mild panic as I had calf pain and raised levels of the marker for DVT but a scan gave me the all clear. However my lovely new knee progress...

    TKR RTKR 2nd March 2022

Admin please could you change my thread title to RTKR 2nd March 2022 Thank you Jaycey, Yes I am icing at least 2-3 times a day. It is the back of the knee that is causing the main problem, but I think I am expecting too much too soon as after the first ghastly 72 hours I really did feel like it...

    TKR RTKR 2nd March 2022

Im now 32 days in and had been feeling optimistic about my improvement, ( slow and steady as my name implies,) but over the last day or so the wheels have fallen off slightly. I thought I could completely straighten my leg but now there is a small but definite bend when I try to lock it...

    TKR RTKR 2nd March 2022

I think I am recovering well from my TKR on March 2 2022, but am slightly concerned that the mild varicose veins I had in my lower leg are much more noticeable now and there is slightly more heat in the calf of my operated leg than the other. I do not have any pain in the calf or massive...

TKR Hello from across the pond

I had my right knee done on March 2nd 2022 and the good old NHS had me out in 36 hours. I would have quite liked another night in but the unit is whacking through the Covid backlog like things possessed and need the beds. I also had a new knee cap and some sort of realignment of my knee and so...

    TKR RTKR 2nd March 2022

I will certainly take my time but from all your responses it looks as though there will be a time in the future when my knee and muscles will be strong enough to consider a bath and that is very cheering.

Thankyou Susie-Q and Jockette. I will hold my horses for a good while then. I must admit my knee itself is telling me loudly that I mustn’t do anything rash. Its just the mechanics of how to achieve in and out that perplexes me at the moment, but I will certainly take your advice and not rush to...

    TKR RTKR 2nd March 2022

I’m not sure that I have worked out how to post to the correct forums yet and apologise if I am getting the threads horribly entangled. I am at day 17 now and so far very pleased and grateful for my recovery. Stitches are out, I am trotting about quite nicely, but am in no rush to begin any sort...

Thanks everyone, I think a tin of mandarins in syrup! May have done the trick. 72 hours in now and am feeling very much more in control and not quite such a gibbering wreck.

    TKR RTKR 2nd March 2022

I have now had the op and was home after 36 hours.( the NHS is a marvel but they don’t hang about.) I was warned that it was painful but my goodness! I think so far all is going well, I am hobbling to the loo and sleeping well at the moment, My poor husband is more frazzled than I am. My...

TKR My op date of the 26th January was postponed

Was due to have a TKR of my right knee on January 29th but an infection caused it to be postponed and I am now going to be done on the 2nd March. Frustrating and a bit like "The Road Not Taken," but in an odd way the delay has given me a bit of time to get used to the idea.
