    THR Hip recovery

I am 10 months post anterior hip replacement. I still have weakness in my anterior thigh. Maybe 4/5. I have not been able to exercise as much as I would like. I have more discomfort than I would like, just enough to keep me from pushing it. The weakness gives me problems with stairs if I am...

    THR Knee pain

I had my surgery July 28 of last year. R anterior hip replacement, R knee replacement 3 years ago. I’m struggling a little. My leg feels longer and I feel lopsided. My gait is getting better. I’m up to walking a mile and a half with poles. The poles help with my lopsided feeling. Hip feels achy...

    THR Knee pain

Six months out and my operative hip still feels longer. Anyone else not have this “wear off”.

    THR Knee pain

I am 4 months post right anterior hip replacement. Still having problems with leg length discrepancy. It’s only 1/8 inch off but feels like an inch. My surgeon referred me to PT for postural restoration. It’s going to take awhile to get in since I am transferring my care due to a move. Not...

    THR Knee pain

The sensation of my operative leg being longer is driving me crazy. It’s only 1/8“ on X-ray. It’s hard not to limp. I think the limping wears me out from walking. I know the sensation should wear off. But do I try not to limp? Is there anything else I should be doing? I’m almost 10 weeks out.

    THR Knee pain

I am soon to be 6 weeks post right anterior hip replacement. My hip pain is manageable with Tylenol. My energy is on the lower side but I probably push it too much every day. I have noticed my right knee (which was replaced 3 years ago) is bothering me more than my hip. Does this make any sense...

    THR Knee pain

Creampuff, my hemoglobin was down to 9 from 13. The hospitalist suggested I take a prenatal vitamin. I think I also wasn’t tolerating the iron in that so I stopped it. I’m sure things will get better, but I’m not a good patient. I am a retired NP, used to taking care of everyone else.

    THR Knee pain

I’m a 4 1/2 weeks out from my right anterior total hip replacement. BoneSmart was a lifesaver for me after my knee replacement almost 3 years ago. I never joined the forum at that time but found it extremely helpful. I had help for 2 weeks, then I was alone. I was a relatively new widow at that...

THR Right Hip Replacement in 8 days...question on using the bathroom

If you have the option, just have a comfort height toilet installed. My husband installed a comfort height toilet 3 days after my surgery. What a difference it made! Then I just made sure my walker was locked and used it to help myself stand.
