I am doing much better. For like 3 weeks it seemed to be pretty much no improvement then all of a sudden a ton of improvement over a week. I still have to concentrate on not limping but I don’t think it’s a mechanical or pain issue it’s just learning how to walk correctly again and I have to be...
I can do the heel to toe much better with a cane. I am so used to limping for the past few years I think it’s muscle memory. I was not bending the operated knee for probably last 18 months before surgery to compensate so my gait is all messed up.
I will be 8 weeks next Tuesday and I seem to have had no improvement over the past two weeks. No major pain or anything but I do get sore after PT and if I do a higher activity level. I can definitely walk without a cane but I have a limp when I do. It just seems like I’m kinda stuck where I am...
Just had my one month follow up and everything is healing well. The surgeon lifted the weight bearing restrictions. So all great news! I’m starting outpatient PT next week and hopefully get switched from the walker to a cane soon. I have attached a pic of my X-ray. The stem is so short! I’m 6’4”...
So I’m just over 2 weeks since surgery and the pain level isn’t too bad. I’m constantly icing and elevating and I have been completely off of meds for over a week now. Only thing I am taking now is aspirin for blood clots. I do have numbness and a little swelling down the outer side of my thigh...
They cracked my femur during my surgery last Tuesday as well. The surgeon didn’t explain it that well to me so not sure how many wires I have and he did say he used a bone graft from my femoral head to stabilize the cracked area. I’m on 50% weight bearing restrictions.
I have so many lingering...
Honeymoon is starting to end. I was able to get some sleep but I am very sore today.
One very weird feeling I didn’t anticipate was on the way home from the hospital yesterday, I turned up the music a little bit in the car and a dance song came on and I could feel the bass vibration in the...
I had previously delayed my surgery due to the pandemic and I recently had a false alarm on a cardiac stress test that resulted in a trip to the hospital for a cardiac catheterization which thankfully that no blockage. I was completely expecting a stent and 6 to 12 month delay due to blood...
I postponed my surgery because I didn’t want to be in the hospital at the beginning of the pandemic. I’m scheduled for July 20.
I was noticing my heart rate increasing with minimal activity and walking. So I went to a cardiologist to make sure it wasn’t heart related and to make sure I could...
Newbie here. I am 45 years old and scheduled a THR on my right hip for March 9th. I have had a lot of pain over the past 3 years. It’s bone on bone on the right hip. Thankfully no issues with the left. I took the family to Disneyland last month and I could barely move at the end of the day and...
