Hi Again
I am nearly 8 months post my second tkr.
I finally can peddle my stationary bike at the correct height (I think) The first 2 minutes are very painful but pain subsides and today I did 15 minutes on a low level. No pain in knee after. Going up stairs is still painful but in hip and knee...
Thanks for answering. But is it possible to not do enough or do the wrong way and NEVER get enough rom to peddle. My pain is mainly on outside of knee but does not affect walking only peddling but IF I do too much pain is in knee cap.I have no swelling and usually no heat. But I still ice. What...
Me again
I need more encouragement AGAIN please.
I am at 6 months post tkr.I have been following the Bonesmart philosophy. Proper heel slides lots of icing etc. Walking has been pretty easy but going down stairs too difficult. Upstairs tough but manageable. Doing a rotation on bike painful.Very...
Should I continue to rock on the bike to try to go backwards. I will be so happy when I can accomplish that one small thing. Then I will know I am on my way.Or will this be too taxing?
You have no idea how much this web site is appreciated. With no hydro therapy or physio therapy available and...
Thanks for all the comments. No knee cap problem today or yesterday.Today walking actually felt pretty good and did 40 mins straight. Also finally tried my stationary bike. Have seat Very high but still cannot do a backwards rotation. It is excruciating. I did try it twice but cannot do it.. My...
I think I need another bit of encouragement. I had been walking quite well lately(until last few days) even though still very stiff in morning and after sitting. I have been doing little exercise as advised except for everyday living walking the dog and some heel slides. Now for 3 days walking...
I have basically done nothing but go about my daily activities for about two weeks now. Being in lockdown they are not much I still have pain in my knee cap when I walk and it is uncomfortable. It seems to improve later in the afternoon but then is again painful the next morning. I have a...
It is possible I suppose that doing the Plank two days in a row (hold for 1.5 mins) and downward dog could have irritated the knee although there was no pain at all doing that. Next day pain in kneecap. For past several days have done nothing but walk the dog which I have to do. It is definately...
Heed the advice ROM will come back it just takes patience as in lots!! If you doing too much the knee will let you know as in more pain. Do not push to get better if you do it will just take that much longer to heal.
Is knee cap pain a common one. This pain is on and off but makes walking uncomfortable. I am doing next to no rom exercises so I do not think that I am irritating the knee. My other knee replacement never had this but I did have other issues. At 15 + weeks is this a common complaint.???
Very...
I am now just past 14 weeks. For the past 10 days I have been uncomfortable walking as there is pain in my knee cap. I never had this before so am concerned. I ice a lot and do easy heel slides. Standing and moving around the house seems ok but going upstairs properly hurts. Have not tried...
But then why does inactivity not cause the other knee to be stiff. What gets the synovial fluid to start being produced like the normal knee. Did the surgery somehow stop the fluid from being produced when inactive.Hope I am not being a pain but I am interested in this darn stiffness and when it...
That makes a lot of sense. But what has stopped the knee from making the synovial fluid and what makes it start back .I know when I start little bends it does loosen up a bit. I dont get to see my surgeon. Have not seen him once. Have only had 2. ten minute phone calls . I feel very alone...
I am now 12 weeks post tkr.Is it normal to still be very stiff especially after sitting awhile or sleeping?? Most of the time I walk with slight limp but sometimes no limp. Cant figure out why unless my knee is crabbing about a little too much exercise the day before. Who knows. I certainly...
