Staph Infection Cure
Jak's situation sounds very much like mine. I am scheduled for a "re-insertion" March 23rd. BLood work indicates Staph gone. Will do an aspiration for a culture next month early.- Mitch102

Just to make sure there is no confusion. I have one piece of steel. A shank with a ball on the end of it. No lining or anything in the socket. I do not have a "spacer". I was told that they used to make the spacer as a temporary infection killer. They were made from a porous material and soaked with medicine. I was then advised that the "new" ones are steel and, hence, permanent IF YOU LIKE IT. This second device does not have a liner in the socket so the...- Mitch102

Staph Infection Cure
I had first hip replacement in August and 2nd in September. To cure the staph infection they replaced the first with a one piece steel unit not the frequently mentioned chemically soaked absorbant type -- called a "spacer". Has anyone else had the one piece steel infection fighting...- Mitch102
