    TKR 2nd knee replacement

@sistersinhim wow you’ve really been through a lot, well done for getting on with life and taking care of your recovery. After her replacements she was very much of the opinion that she was now disabled and had ‘others’ do everything for her. Unfortunately she ended up in a wheelchair and...

    TKR 2nd knee replacement

@diane71 thank you, this is what I’ve been thinking, I’m 7 years older so it’s going to be harder. Problem is I have in the back of my mind that my mum just gave up when she had her knees replaced, didn’t try to get stronger and ended up disable, I so don’t want to be like that.

    TKR 2nd knee replacement

@benne68 I can’t say it feels worse the next day after my physio but if I’ve walked then sometimes it can but I feel I need to keep pushing the walking to loosen up the knee. I guess little and often might be better though?

    TKR 2nd knee replacement

@MSuki thanks, I’ve just taken an anti inflammatory tablet so I’ll see how it goes.

    TKR 2nd knee replacement

@benne68 Hi, ok thanks my surgery was 8th Aug 23. My knee is still sore and quite swollen, should I still be icing and taking any pain and anti inflammatory as I stopped them 5-6 weeks ago?

    TKR 2nd knee replacement

Hi I had my hips replaced in 2013 and my left knee in 2016. I had my right knee replaced 12 weeks ago and I feel it’s so much harder this time! I feel I’m so far behind from my last one, it’s still sore and stiff, I’m hobbling and I’m scared that I’m going to fall. I can’t remember at what stage...

    I’m back and it’s been a while

I’ve had both hips, 6 years ago and one knee 3 years ago, replaced and I’ve now been advised I need my other knee replaced. I’m in the UK and obviously have to wait for a date so in the meantime I’d really like to get myself a bit stronger to cope with it this time. Can anyone advise some...

TKR A new knee to add to my collection

Thanks for the reply @newlybionic I suppose I'm seriously worrying that I'm going to need another replacement fairly soon whereas that knee had seemed fine pre surgery. ☹️ I do find myself favouring the operated knee as stronger for coming down stairs.

In the last few months my 'good' knee has been giving me much more trouble than my operated knee, is this normal?

TKR A new knee to add to my collection

Thanks @Majella, my daughter always says I heal quickly and having had 5 major surgeries, mastectomy, spine/disc fusion, 2 new hips and a knee in the last 8 years, it's probably good that I do! :wow: @newlybionic, I've decided to try to cut back on the anti inflammatory tablets and just take...

TKR A new knee to add to my collection

@newlybionic thanks for the advice, I had stopped icing as I assumed at 11 weeks I didn't need to but you think it would help? Do you also think I should I stick with my anti inflammatory tablets too, do they help?

TKR A new knee to add to my collection

I can't believe it's over a month since I last posted! I'm doing really well, even walking my dogs over on the fields for up to an hour. I'm cutting back on my pain and anti inflammatory tablets, some days I can and others I need them. Still feels quite tight around the knee, which I guess is...
