I am a very, very socially active 70 year old retired accountant. I will be having LTKR on November 24, 2015 due to loss of cartilage and bone spurs. Cortisone and lubricant injections did not last long. Pain is mainly on the outside of the back of my knee and prevents me from exercising at the rate I want to. I am dreading the pain after surgery. I have a lot of support from family and friends. My husband had RTKR about 3 years ago with very little pain. I know it is something I need to do but I am still afraid. This blog has been very helpful.
