    TKR Knee Buckling

I have not spoken to my docktor about my knee buckling. I guess because I don't want him to suggest a revision, or anything that would involve another surgery. No muscle weakness. I do most of my normal activities but slower. Going up and down stairs is slow, mainly because I do not have...

    TKR Knee Buckling

I had a total right knee replacement in September 08 - 2 years ago. I am 71 years of age, and fairly active. Throughout the past 2 years my knee has felt at least 75% better than before the replacement, but not as good as I expected. Mr. Doctor just tells me to take Naproxen. In the past 6...

Has anybody had to contend with MRSA and Knee Replacements?

I had MRSA 2 times and was hospitalized in 2005. After those 2 hospitalizations, I had no further outbreaks, so in Sept. of 2008 I decided to have my TKR. It has been just a year and all is fine. Just make sure that everyone who comes in contact with you is aware that you have had MRSA and...

I postponed TKR; Anti-clot shots in abdomen?

I took coumadin pills by mouth in the hospital and in rehab. One day in rehab they came in with a needle instead of the coumadin tablets. I asked the nurse what that was for and she explained ani-clotting. I refused to take the shot and insisted they give me coumadin tablets as I had been...

    Stiffness and Swelling?

I am 8 weeks out and still have stiffness and swelling. Using ice and Naproxen. Saw my surgeon today and told him about my concerns. He said it takes time, but he did say he could alleviate some of the swelling by draining it a bit. He drained it and then gave me a shot of cortisone to reduce...

    4 months Help TKR

If you have swelling issues have your doctor drain some fluid from your knee and give you a cortisone shot. I am at 8 weeks and just had that done today. Can't tell yet if it will work.

They should give you an IV dose of Vancomyacin just prior to surgery. Don't take anything for granted.

    2 weeks after TKR

Had a total knee replacement two weeks ago and am doing great. Can walk across two rooms without a cane and walker and am only taking Motrin 3xs a day. I think I am one of the lucky ones
