Thanks for the reply. I had my HTO done 9 days ago. Things are improving but I still have lots of pain. I can control the pain with normal OTC pain meds so no issues there.

Just thought I would update.
Nearly 4 months since arthroscopy and my condition has gotten worse.
PT didn't help. Surgeon has prescribed me an unloader brace to evaluate whether an HTO is a sensible course of action. It's horribly uncomfortable but does give me alot of relief.
I've been...
I'm 4 weeks post surgery for an arthroscopy with a partial meniscectomy.
My knee hasn't improved much after surgery. Range of motion is slightly better but the pain that I had in the knee is still there and it doesn't feel like it's improving.
My surgeon recommended that I do 3 months of PT...
Two weeks on from surgery and the clicking and catching has definitely gone but the pain at the joint line is worse than before. I assume this is just from the surgery.
How were others recovery from partial meniscectomy?

@runman could I ask you about the symptoms and consultations that lead to an HTO?
I was an ultra runner and long distance triathlete until last year where I was diagnosed with medial compartment OA. I've just had an arthroscopy but I'm pretty sure that an HTO is my only route back to some...
@djklaugh thanks for the reply. You are right it's early days and there is a chance all could be well after the arthroscopy.

I've always been lucky enough to have good health and never needed to use my private healthcare. TBH I'm finding the whole process intimidating and I'm just listening. After researching a...
Is it ok to ask my surgeon about potential operations? Even if he hasn't suggested them?
I was extremely active before this knee issue and I really need to get back to some level of activity. I accept I won't be running ever again but I need to be able to get back to the outdoors for long...
Surgery was 2nd Feb on my left knee.
I'll be honest I just made the assumption that a TKR is off the cards based on my research. My surgeon said I will need one eventually but maybe he wasn't referring to my age when saying this
I've just recently undergone a partial meniscectomy of my medial meniscus and debridement. I have degenerative arthritis of the medial compartment of my left knee.
Having done some research I feel like the meniscectomy may not have done much to improve my condition. I'm 41 so a TKR is off the...
