It's okay. I will be going to the doctor soon. I have a family emergency going on, which is why I cannot concentrate right now. Sorry to have taken up your time.

Pain varies but usually at top of hip and down thigh. Also, the entire area of the incision. The pain in the hip moves from top of hip to buttocks to thigh. Hope this helps.

THR 9 weeks after THR and not progressing

Sorry for not answering all questions. I am taking 2 tylenol ex strength 2 times per day. I take 5 mg oxycodone a few times a week at night (do not have many). The pain is in the top part of my hip; however, the pain moves to my thigh and lower leg on some days. As far as the incision pain...

THR 9 weeks after THR and not progressing

Wow, sounds very much like what I have been experiencing! Twice I went to dr. and was told it was just stitches and it would go away. That was two months ago and I am still in real pain every day!! It does not look infected, but bright red and so sore, just to the touch. Thanks for much for...

THR 9 weeks after THR and not progressing

Thanks for your support and suggestions. I stopped PT after 4 weeks and have just been doing it by myself. You are right, the PT made me feel more painful. Now I walk, but just a very short distance. I am glad to hear that you are now doing better at 7 mos. I wish for that and hope I can...

THR 9 weeks after THR and not progressing

Hi copsham, Now that you mentioned it, I really think that I might have sensitivity to the internal stitches. I cannot figure out why the incision would still hurt like a recent wound, otherwise. What happened with you?

THR 9 weeks after THR and not progressing

Hi Josephine, Thanks for responding. To answer the questions: Pain level is between 4 and 7 (less in daytime and worse at night or with bad weather). Pain is aching, throbbing and stiffness. The incision scar throbs and burns. I cannot lay on that side. Even underwear causes real...

THR 9 weeks after THR and not progressing

Thanks for asking about me. I have not been back to the doctor, but still having incision pain and hip pain. I walk when I can (weather has been bad) but still having a very hard time. I know the dr will just do another xray and say the implant is okay. Just so frustrating at over 4 months...

THR 9 weeks after THR and not progressing

I do not know what is happening...now my incision seems to be inflamed and possibly infected after 13 weeks. Don't know what to do at this point. Total pain, called Dr on call. Told to call back on Tues. I am very discouraged and do not know what to do. Any help would be appreciated!

THR 9 weeks after THR and not progressing

I am going to my surgeon tomorrow. I am still in pain and not doing better. I plan to tell him how bad this has been for me. It will be 12 weeks and I am sorry I did this. Been through breast cancer and all the treatment, does not compare to this. I hope I get some better news tomorrow...

THR 9 weeks after THR and not progressing

SLOW is definitely the word. I am trying to just take a short walk with my cane each day. I thought by now I would be power walking, but no such thing!! Patience is necessary to get through this recovery (wish I had more). I believe it is a day to day situation and hope it will happen fairly...

THR 9 weeks after THR and not progressing

Thanks for your response. My incision was anterolateral. I, like you, have been having the night time deep ache pain. I went out last evening and had to use my crutch. I am going to cancel the last two PT sessions because I do not feel it was helping me, maybe causing more harm. I see my dr...

Sorry to hear that you, too, have been having troubles with progressing recovery. I am sure with time we will both get past this stage and on to easier times. I wish you all the best!

THR 9 weeks after THR and not progressing

My activity level is moderate. I go to PT and I walk about 4-5 blocks every other day. My hip is making as clunking sound when I life my leg straight up and down. PT therapist thinks it could be a piece of muscle. All I know is that I was doing so well and know I am limping and having pain...
